File path to links
When users copy/paste a link to a local folder on a server in Team, that link currently comes through as text. This causes other users to have to copy/paste the link into a new file explorer address bar. What I would like Teams to do is convert this path into a hyperlink automatically, so they only need to click on the link to open the local folder.
For example, if I have a server share mapped to S:\, with the folder "FolderName" inside of it, and I would like to share the contents of this folder with another employee. I would copy the path "S:\FolderName", and send it to that employee. In the current setup, they would copy "S:\FolderName", open a file explorer, click into the address bar, delete what is in there, then paste and hit enter. If this were changed to a hyperlink, all of those steps would go away. They would simply need to click the link, file explorer would open to that path and we'd be done.
This is a repeated feature request I am getting from my coworkers. Thanks!

Please add this function back into Teams. It was a highly useful tool in Skype that we no longer have access too.
PLEASE ADD THIS - loss of functionality = loss of production, something your company actively targets improving....
This would be a useful feature. Feels like Microsoft will never move forward with this as it doesn't support their "cloud" environment and having everything in Teams\Sharepoint\OneDrive.
I NEED this!
It's present in Skype for Business. Why would such an essential function not be in Teams 1.0? Four years after this request thread started and it's still not implemented!

this is a much needed and important feature.
Please add this simple feature - it would save a lot of time being able to hyperlink directly to documents on a server as we can in other Microsoft programs. I would use this feature often, as would many of my co-workers.
Three and a half years old. Hmmmm
adding my two cents to this request - please consider this an important need to add to next update.
I echo everyone's frustration and would like the hyperlink feature. It's ancient to have to copy and paste vs just clicking to access shared files.
I also want this feature.
