Ability to convert an outlook meeting shown in the Meetings tab to a Teams meeting
It would be nice to have the ability to convert an outlook meeting shown in the Meetings tab to a Teams meeting

For an existing on-site meeting scheduled via Outlook, I am able to Open the meeting and include a link to a Teams meeting in the body of the invite by clicking the Teams icon in the ribbon. To do this it seems you MUST be the meeting Organizer

would be very useful
Simply create a new teams meeting. Copy the meeting information and then paste it into your existing outlook meeting.

There is only a Teams Meeting button when creating a new meeting, not for converting an existing meeting.
I have a New Teams Meeting button in the outlook ribbon, but there is no Teams button when I chose/open a meeting - what to do?

The possibility is already there, but it could be that you're missing the Teams button in Outlook.
If that is the case, make sure Microsoft Teams is installed on your computer.
- In Outlook go to File > Options > Add-ins
- Select COM Add-ins from the selection box in the bottom and click the Go button.
- Deselect the Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office.
- Click the OK button and close Outlook.
- Now start Outlook again and enable the add-in again.
- This should result in seeing the Teams button in the Outlook ribbons.
Now if you open an appointment or a meeting in Outlook, you can click the Team Meeting button in the ribbon to convert your Outlook meeting to a Teams meeting.
I can add Teams to an existing stand-alone meeting that was pre-existing in Outlook. I don't seem to be able to add Teams to a pre-existing recurring meeting series. Editing each single occurrence of weekly meetings planned for the next year is not viable. Is there any solution for this?
you can convert an outlook meeting to a teams meeting from within outlook simply by opening the meeting and selecting the teams meeting button. This will convert the meeting and allow to send an update to participants. I have not found a way to convert a meeting from within Teams, but since the meeting was created in Outlook it makes "somewhat" sense that you would go to Outlook to fix it
I would really like this feature - it would be incredibly helpful.

Yes this is extremely problematic when transitioning to teams.

This would be very useful. Currently we need to recreate meetings in Teams and delete set appointments that were made through Bookings.

I concur that this would be very useful & time-saving. Conversion happens frequently because of changes in scheduling, venue, etc.

Even though this is available in Outlook, it would be nice to be able to do this in teams

Yes please I dont want to have to manually recreate each of my meetings !
Is there anyway to do this yet?
Yeah it will great if we can this feature to increase credibility.
a must-have feature I'd say - so many existing appointments/reviews throughout the calendar that could usefully convert.

Yes please! And to create a Teams meeting attached to a specific channel, but starting from the Outlook "New Teams Meeting" button.
Or at least be able to add in the teams PSTN details to the existing meeting
