Ability to convert an outlook meeting shown in the Meetings tab to a Teams meeting
It would be nice to have the ability to convert an outlook meeting shown in the Meetings tab to a Teams meeting

This would be great - imagine even if you're using a Zoom or WebEx and it isn't working for somebody. This would include meetings that another person has set up.
Workflow would be:
1. Press "Convert meeting to Teams."
2. Provide options to "Send Teams information to all attendees" or "Copy Join Information."
3. If the first option is selected, send an e-mail with the Teams join information.
4. If the second option is selected, display the join information with the "Copy to clipboard" option. -

I wish there was a way we could do this and choose a team/channel when adding teams meeting to an invite. Can this be looked at?

Can one only convert a outlook meeting to Teams meeting(include link) if you are the organiser?

Right now I can't even convert an existing calendar event within my Teams calendar, into a Teams Meeting.

Changing an ordinary Outlook meeting to a Skype meeting worked without a problem
Changing an ordinary Outlook meeting to a Teams meeting gives the error: -
"We couldn't schedule the meeting, Please try again later" -

You can use outlook 365 to change the meeting simply by just selecting an option in the edit pane.

Um, it's not really working for me. Any idea why Teams integration is just impossible on a meeting series?
I want to change a meeting time, and it's totally broken for doing this use-case.And for some reason it seems to save my changes even when it pops up the crazy error message about the "teams meeting" metadata not matching the info in the invite. Different ways of skinning the cat, but the Teams way seems to create more work? Can we have more consistency in the controls in the dialogs?

Hello all!
We face this doubt today. If Outlook do not show the "Teams Meeting" for you, so goes to the invite using the Teams app, insert some coment in the invite body and send a update using Teams App calendar. This worked for us.

While converting a simple Outlook Meeting to a Teams meeting exists in cloud systems, it does not work if the existing meeting is a Skype meeting. When one clicks on the Teams meeting button, Outlook just says "We can't automatically convert Skype for Business meetings to Teams. To replace this meeting, cancel it and create a new Teams meeting." in other words, MS does not care that users have to spend large amounts of time ensuring that the new meeting details are the same as the old one. This lack of respect for users is unusual for MS. An Admin can move meetings from Skype to Teams (using MMS) but admins do not know whether THIS particular meeting can move or not, thus they really cannot do it in good faith.

Great for the simple Skype type Teams add-in from Outlook, but having a conversion to allow the linking to a Channel is what I would like.

I am trying to do this from within Teams (on a Mac). It's nice that Teams can show my Exchange calendars and that I can edit the appointments there. But I really would love to see a checkbox or 'convert' button to change a regular appointment to a Teams meeting, in the Teams interface.

Edit: It appears that simply editing such a regular appointment in Teams and sending an update to all participants will automatically convert it into a Teams meeting. Great! :-) -

This is working everyone. Simply do the following:
-Go in Outlook
-Open YOUR meeting (needs to be yours)
-In the top ribbon buttons click 'Teams Meeting'This will then add a Teams meeting to your existing meeting.

Seems irrational to not have this function. My calender is full, and I am currently in a situation where I have to recreate 3+ meetings a day. A scripted button would be nice.

There is a button in the Desktop Calendar, if you open the meeting, you click "Teams Meeting" at the top and it inserts the link in the calendar as a Teams Meeting.

Not sure about whether it's possible to do it for a stand-alone meeting, but was unable to change one occurrence of a recurring meeting in Outlook to a Teams meeting. Had to create a new Teams meeting invite just for that occurrence and cancel the existing invite.
