Allow turning off automatic spell checking
Please add the ability to turn off the "check spelling as I type" feature in the Microsoft Teams Windows app. I use the web app instead of the Windows app simply because I cannot turn off this feature in the Windows app. My opinion is probably in the minority, but I find automatic, real-time spell checking (with the squiggly red lines) to be the most annoying feature ever implemented in any computer program -- even worse than "Clippy" the Windows paperclip help assistant.

Thank you for your continued feedback. The team has been hard at work on improving all of our users’ experiences, and now you have the ability to turn off automatic spell checking!
Please see documentation for changing settings, here: https://support.microsoft.com/office/change-settings-in-teams-b506e8f1-1a96-4cf1-8c6b-b6ed4f424bc7. Thanks!

Has this been added yet? IMHO, it never should have been released without permitting users to turn spell check off, and especially without the ability to add the "spell-checked" word to the dictionary.
Will Admin please show the user base the respect of providing a response?

I'm adding my vote also, please provide the option to disable spell-checking. It's really something which should not be mandatory.

Please fix this! Many users outside anglosphere use at least 2 languages on chat daily so automatic spell checking on system language is very annoying feature. And of course it doesn't recognize technical lingo etc.

This must be some Microsoft thing because the same "feature" (imho it is a bug if an app forces you to communicate in one language only and underlines every word in another language - when > 50 % of the world are at least bilingual!) has to be "voted" for at Skype:

My company just introduced Teams and it is nearly impossible to work with because of the huge annoyance the spell checker causes. I spend my working time trying to disable to spell checker, rather than doing actual work.
ALWAYS make spell checkers optional. Spell checkers are more annoying than wet socks, and yet they are forced as a "feature" on everyone! How hard is that for Microsoft and other software developers to understand?

I agree. My company is using this tool for a week now, and I already hate it for that annoying underlining of any technical phrase I use. Thanks MS, but I know my language better than you do.
+1 for an option to turn off this nonsense. -

Please fix this as soon as possible. I am constantly communicating in 2 different languages and mandatory spell check is very annoying.

This is getting really, really annoying. "spellcheckerDisabled":true doesn't survive a client restart...

... 2 year and half later...
It's ridicolous that there is not yet an option to disable spell check.
