Export your conversations to a document.
it would nice to have the feature to export your conversation to a document such as a word document or excel or to a file alike. this would be Handy if you need to send out the conversations to someone who you would not normally have apart of your team. this would save time and make it more user friendly. Also it will give the opportunity to store the conversation easily in a nother file

For Major Incident Management, conversation/chat is used for RCA by Problem Management team, as well as an artifact for audit (if needed). Yes, there is eDiscovery, but exporting the threads to a document that can be attached to the ticket is far more convenient for all parties. Trying to copy & paste a thread of any length beyond what is visible on screen is untenable. Even the built-in "Meeting Notes" is not exportable. The lack of an export feature, combined with the inability to archive channels, is extremely frustrating.

This feature would be very helpful especially as we migrated OFF teams to Slack

Essential feature to add
Example of how an extract transcript would be a massive time saver:
Major Incident Management
During a major IT incident we can have multiple group chats running over the course of a few days.
Each chat has approvals, decisions, key timeline points that we need to record for post incident work.
Currently we have to scroll through the chat, wait for it to load each section, find the time line points awkwardly copy the chat or manual timeline it.
IF you happen to click out of the chat, you have to scroll back through the loading to get to the sections of the chat you need.
if we could extract the chat, this would allow us to highlight key points, copy paste them out and save a copy of transcripts for reference purposes.
Might get shot for saying this but... This is not a new feature.. pretty basic one tbh and even lotus notes could do it :\
This is needed to report our ticket trouble shooting activities. Right now we use communicator but need Teams to have the same capability.
This more than nice, this is a need. Teams would be a great issue response tool. As opposed to using email/chat/IM on mobile devices/phone calls we could set the plan to meet in a specific team. We have all the collaboration tools we need right there. But - then you need a way to present what happened to management, after action. The Team for issues would not be the best way to present this to management, we may not want management to be part of that team.
This and many other like circumstances require the ability to export a channel conversation within a message and a complete channel conversation.
Desperately need this as well.
Desperately required. Couldn't you at least create a Flow template for it...

Absolutely necessary to have something that creates a transcript of a chat. Either to export or auto-save to outlook like Skype for Business did.
Need this ASAP for ediscovery reasons. Having an absolute nightmare of a time trying to work with chats that save to outlook as individual lines v a conversation. Wasting DAYS of my time trying to force these into a usable format. It seems so simple that there would be a sane way of saving/exporting conversations.
This feature is a must. It can't be that everybody has to contact that "Office Admin" just to get a transcript of a communication as an .eml file (via the search center or whatever it is called).
I tried copy and paste, and it's a nightmare... various lines appear multiple times, formatting is horrendous.
Everybody who uses Teams at work will have to, at times, provide a reference to a communication to others.. how? And, it shouldn't have to be the whole thing, or having to invite everybody under the sun to the chat.. OR having to export "ONE" line/sentence at a time.

I feel like Teams isn't being taken seriously by Microsoft. Have you given up on it?

So, you now have 50+ people asking that this be included without a single reply. Does anyone from the Teams development team actually monitor these conversations? Not a positive UI/UX win here. Beside the wonky scrolling problems which don't allow the user to scroll through an entire conversation easily, we're unable to print a conversation in a thread either. Sweet!
Unbelievable this is not already included. Surely, exporting anything just to a text file is a basic requirement of any program...! Bonkers that it isn't available.
Basic feature. Please include it.
Text export please so I'm able a real search that works fine!
Feature is also useful for escalations or for FYIs to other team members
This is needed urgently to be able to be copied into other systems and formats. I don't understand why this isn't a feature already??
I need export functionality to archive conversations on the project site and delete team after project is completed.

Agreed, would like to achive/delete a channel but retain conversation.
