Setup auto/manual cleanup of unknown users
As users come and go from the organization, the teams are being left with orphaned "Unknown User" in the list of members. There should be an admin function or scheduled cleanup to remove these orphaned users from the team membership. I understand their old posts will say Unknown User and you can't change that, but at least clean up the user membership list. It would be great if the name of the poster was not dynamic and tied to a profile, so that historical posts would still say the name of the poster. Maybe you can add the name of the poster into each post as a static value during posting which doesn't change even when users are removed from the O365 tenant.
We have to write feature requests for obvious bugs now? If someone no longer exists in AD why are you clogging up Teams with "Unknown User" records? This is ridiculous
My unknown users (one was our former Teams administrator) has the name listed in historical chats. This is useful after the person has left the organization as a part of the organizational knowledge and history.
So, rather than list them as "Unknown Users" I'd rather the contact be grayed out with a note "User no longer with organization" or something.
Also, I'd like an alert when this happens because at my company you never find out until you go looking for someone and eventually you find a supervisor who said "Oh yeah, his last day was 3 weeks ago!"
