Start calendar week on monday (or allow setting)
Using the desktopversion, when I want to plan a meeting, my weeks start on Sunday. I'm used to weeks starting on Monday, so I spent half an hour planning (and replanning) meetings.
Currently, start day for the week and the work-week are set based on your language in Settings in Microsoft Teams. The Calendar team has work on the backlog to address the case where users may want a different week/work-week start day than is usual for their language setting.
Until then, the team wanted to share this workaround for setting the work-week start day via OWA, while leaving your language settings as-is.
- Open Outlook Web Access (“OWA”), and go to the Settings panel, as described in this article: https://support.microsoft.com/office/calendar-settings-in-outlook-web-app-84544ef2-d5cf-4696-bcb3-cc87719a3e07.
- In the OWA Settings, click “View all Outlook Settings”
- Use the settings under “Show work week as” to choose your work-week days.
- Click “Save”
- Return to Teams, click on your photo/initials at the top right and choose “Sign Out”
I work in Australia and nearly everyone I know, including me starts the week on Monday however the Australia language defaults set this to Sunday. Please make this a separate option so I can have my language and day preference.
Our week begins on Sunday and we use UK English formats for dates and etc. The default first day of the week in calendar being Monday causes unnecessary confusion while setting meetings. Therefore would it be possible to let the user decide which date their work week begins?

Middle East - have Fridays as off and first day of the week can be either Saturday or Sunday, depends from company to company. In either ways we need an option to change the first day of the week to Saturday or Sunday as required. Kindly look into this and get this fixed that will help the entire ME region.
I wanted to retrieve information on how to set the first day of the week in planner within an associated Team in Teams. The answer provided pointed to the Team but I could not see whether the Team setting also gets inherited in Planner as well or whether that needs to be done there as a separate setting as well. I am working with German language settings where Monday would be the first day of the week and I don't even see this being recognized in Teams as such as Sunday seems to be the first day of the week. Please allow for a language setting agnostic definition / option to set the first day of the week.
I need manually changing the work day regardless of the app language I use.
Monday to Friday (working week) as setting should be possible. I need this option
Four Australian users, changing language to "English (United Kingdom)" also changes the week to start on a Monday.
Gulf region - need an option for desktop app to start week on Sunday

I am using french canadian and the week starts also on Sunday while I am used to start it on Monday
It should also allow the same view as Outlook where "Today" can be the first day of the week. However long that week is deemed to be ( 5/7 days).
Echoing another user: Like many other users, i am working in the Gulf and would like to see the working week Sunday to Thursday. This should be a standard option.
yes, 100% need week to start on a monday
I would love to see an option to customize your work week, as not everyone has the same schedule. For example, my work week starts on a Monday and not the typical way teams has the settings scheduled to start on Sunday.
Like many other users, i am working in the Gulf and would like to see the working week Sunday to Thursday.
This should be a standard option.
I am from The Netherlands but always set my language to English (US) for better troubleshooting searching. In this language, the weekday indeed begins on a Sunday. But when I change my language settings to Dutch, the weekday starts on a Monday.
I would very much like to be able to control the first day of the week outside the language settings.

In the Middle East the official week start is Saturday, and it is surprising that this cannot be configured in Teams
Please, all you would have to do is match the system settings, that way it will just match all of your other apps. (On macOS, anyway.)

This setting is available in Outlook, and it is extremely discombobulating trying to switch between the two views of the week.

For some of you, switching the Teams calendar view from "Week" to "Work week" will do what you need. For the rest of you...it is kind of stunning that 2.5 years later, this hasn't been resolved.
