Start calendar week on monday (or allow setting)
Using the desktopversion, when I want to plan a meeting, my weeks start on Sunday. I'm used to weeks starting on Monday, so I spent half an hour planning (and replanning) meetings.
Currently, start day for the week and the work-week are set based on your language in Settings in Microsoft Teams. The Calendar team has work on the backlog to address the case where users may want a different week/work-week start day than is usual for their language setting.
Until then, the team wanted to share this workaround for setting the work-week start day via OWA, while leaving your language settings as-is.
- Open Outlook Web Access (“OWA”), and go to the Settings panel, as described in this article: https://support.microsoft.com/office/calendar-settings-in-outlook-web-app-84544ef2-d5cf-4696-bcb3-cc87719a3e07.
- In the OWA Settings, click “View all Outlook Settings”
- Use the settings under “Show work week as” to choose your work-week days.
- Click “Save”
- Return to Teams, click on your photo/initials at the top right and choose “Sign Out”
Best thing is to just sync with Outlook settings.
The calendar format should have nothing to do with language. If I set my language to UK to have Mon as the first day, my keyboard is remapped as well - I am in the US!!! Thanks very much!

Yes, This is mandate for Middle East region and will drain the usage if this is not fixed at the earliest

It is surprising that this is not yet addressed, as Microsoft often tout their inclusiveness. As Anonymous stated below, a working week is Sunday to Thursday in the Middle East.
A workweek starts in the middle east on a Sunday and ends on a Thursday
You can not address this in Microsoft teams
In Outlook yes it fine but not in the team.
Difficult when you set a daily reoccurring meeting (Sun-Thursday)
See if you can fix this!
have Teams follow the customized Win settings (like any other decent application); problem solved
Another vote for the ability to configure my own work week please!
THE ANSWER is very simple... change your settings in your outlook WEB-version.
After closing and reopening teams, everyting is ok.

I am working in an international environment, so all language settings are "English" to avoid confusion. Nevertheless I'm in Germany and would need my calendar to start the week with Monday. Like all the other tools, incl. Outlook are doing it.
Independence of language and time settings is a must!
work in theatre and the arts. The week starts on Monday. Desperatley need the weekend together. And the months to scroll.

UK week starts on Monday and I find it really confusing to have the week start on Sunday.

Reviewing the comments and the original request, it is apparent that users want the choice to configure the week begin/end for what works best for them. There's enough variation within a geography (no single agreed definition/standard) that users need the choice to configure this individually (like Outlook). This comes up with my customers.
Currently my calendar is showing Monday to Sunday week. I work in Iraq and my working week is Sunday to Thursday. Outlook has an option to amend that, but I could not find such a function on MS Teams. Please add it. Thank you.
PLEASE introduce the feature of changing the working week. It cannot be rocket science, I mean it is also possible in MS Outlook!
REally ? It's 2020, No option to change the first day of the work week ???
During Covid-19 work-at-home phase, I have a higher reliance on meetings through Teams app. At this point, I probably look at Teams calendar more frequently than I look at Outlook calendar. Being able to customize starting day of the week display would be a significant value add.

to allow for middle eastern calendars starting on a saturday
I work in Australia and nearly everyone I know, including me starts the week on Monday however the Australia language defaults set this to Sunday. Please make this a separate option so I can have my language and day preference.
Our week begins on Sunday and we use UK English formats for dates and etc. The default first day of the week in calendar being Monday causes unnecessary confusion while setting meetings. Therefore would it be possible to let the user decide which date their work week begins?
