Start calendar week on monday (or allow setting)
Using the desktopversion, when I want to plan a meeting, my weeks start on Sunday. I'm used to weeks starting on Monday, so I spent half an hour planning (and replanning) meetings.
Currently, start day for the week and the work-week are set based on your language in Settings in Microsoft Teams. The Calendar team has work on the backlog to address the case where users may want a different week/work-week start day than is usual for their language setting.
Until then, the team wanted to share this workaround for setting the work-week start day via OWA, while leaving your language settings as-is.
- Open Outlook Web Access (“OWA”), and go to the Settings panel, as described in this article: https://support.microsoft.com/office/calendar-settings-in-outlook-web-app-84544ef2-d5cf-4696-bcb3-cc87719a3e07.
- In the OWA Settings, click “View all Outlook Settings”
- Use the settings under “Show work week as” to choose your work-week days.
- Click “Save”
- Return to Teams, click on your photo/initials at the top right and choose “Sign Out”
Whose the oddball that decided a week starts on a Monday in South Africa? This is so not true. And even if it was, I don't want it like that. So give me the choice. Really the diversity topic has gone too far off the ranch.
You can go to Profile -> Settings -> General and change the app language.
"App language determines the date and time format."
If the language if "English ( United States )" then the first day of the week will be Sunday.
I changed it to "English ( United Kingdom )" and now the first day of the week is Monday.
You can also select to only see the work week ( from the top right corner ). This way Saturdays and Sundays are not shown at all.
Seriously frustrating that this cannot be changed to start on a Monday.
It would be very much appreciated if this is fixed in the near future. Mistakes are sure to happen while planning tasks due to this.
I need option to set week to start on monday.
I need the option to set it on Monday.

This would be a feature which would be greatly appriciated!
Why does the Teams app doesn't adhere to the Microsoft standard for all other tools? I.e. provide the ability to either select the date and time format independent of language setting or picking (the same) up from Windows settings?
Please fix this asap.

Terribly annoying. Is that little thing that makes a minor problem soooo relevant.

I have the opposite problem, being in the UK, the language "English (United Kingdom)" automatically defaults to Monday as the start of the week. Switching the "English (United States)" moved the start of the week to Sunday...
Surely using the same functionality as Outlook or Windows shouldn't be too difficult to implement.

Hey, really? Is this even in the pipeline yet?
It seems very difficult to implement an INTERNATIONAL standard :-(
MS take the code from Outlook and do it. How hard can it be?
We know that Europe is such a small continent but it would be nice have option to adjust this. Outlook has that option available.
This is driving several of my customers crazy. It needs to be configurable.
First weekday is Sn. and not Mn. There is no option to change it!
International standard, but no Microsoft standard. Fix IT !

And... this is an international standard:
"Monday is the day of the week between Sunday and Tuesday. According to the international standard ISO 8601 it is the first day of the week." (Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monday)
