Copying text - hovering menu hides the end of the text
When copying text from a message, the ending of the message is hidden by the "More Options" hover.
The redesigned and expanded message actions have rolled out to all users. If you are still not seeing this, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Bump. This is an accessibility/usability issue as well.
I like to use Teams to chat with colleagues quite often and today I noticed that because for every line of the chat there is a pop-up set of options to Like, Save, or Other Options (The thumb, flag, and dots) I am not able to click on a very short link that is at the end of a chatted line- it is covered up by those button options.
Could there be a way to change where the pop-up button options appear so that none of the line of chat is obscured? That would be helpful and a nice improvement to the functionality.
For a message, the icons on hover block the message. Which makes it impossible to copy, for example, an ID
When trying to copy text at the end of a message, it can be impossible to select the text because of the More Options that displays over it. (see attachment)
Flyout menu covers part of messages, makes it hard to properly copy thing, especially if short, like just a ticket number. <see pic>
This should either swing out the other way (soooo much open space) or someplace where it does not intrude on the message

No updates and Microsoft's flagship enterprise messaging program cannot copy and paste messages. We have resorted to copy and pasting screenshots of messages.
I've included a gif in an attempt to demonstrate the issue. Basically if the top line of a message goes edge to edge then the text is cut off when hovering.
The controls should ideally be outside of the message or if that is incredibly difficult could the text at least NEVER appear in the area where the controls are displayed?
No update since April. This is super annoying.

It really annoying when copying a message from Teams chat conversation. I had attached a video for showing how it gets annoying because the save message and like message icons appear on the message to be copied. It would be better to add icons above the message so that it doesn't overlap

Super annoying, and should be quite easy to fix!

Trying to copy/paste short messages is difficult. The ... and Bookmark/Pin badges obscures the text.
Example before and after hover (attempting to select and highlight number):
In Teams, at least in the fat client on Windows, if you have a link in your message, and that link appears near the end of a sent comment, all parties will be unable to click the link because of the "Save this message" and "More options" mouseover effects. If the link is a named link, there will be no way I've been able to figure out to see the intended URL either.

This fix really need to fix this one at the same time. Simple selection in the chat is difficult because of the icons that get displayed on hover. https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/32030413-copying-text-hovering-menu-hides-the-end-of-the
Hi Suphatra, can you confirm or deny that this limitation is by design?
Team conversation become a part of corporate memory. Recently I asked the team to colloborate on a design to feedback to an architect. May I please have an update.
With thanks, Tim

I'm using Chrome Developer Tools to see some elements of the conversation and pick up some of them and make following simply printed texts. These texts are important to make records of decision making but composing them is very annoying for me.

Stupid that this has been a feature in Skype for over a decade. Come on MS! Get your act together! If you want us to use MS Teams, make it work like Skype.

Yeah, this is bloody annoying. The hover menu should not be activated if the mouse is already down when the pointer enters the hover region.

This is lunacy. If one can select the text (which one can), then it should not de-select on mouse-release.
