Ability for meeting participants to draw on shared screen
Participants in a a meeting with a shared screen should have the ability to draw (with their mouse or touch pen) on the shared screen. E.g. if a PowerPoint is being presented, participants would have their designated color to draw with (to distinguish who is drawing) and a mouse pointer in the same color. The could then point and draw for the other participants in the meeting to see. This would be similar to a whiteboard, only it would be for drawing on top of a shared screen.
Thank you for your continued feedback. We have not forgotten about this ask. This feature remains on our backlog. We will share an update as soon as one is available.
Hi. I'm evaluating Teams as a potential replacement for the current web meeting solution we are using. Not being able to annotate the screens of the customers we are training is a deal breaker.
Do you have any ETA for that feature so I can see if Teams is still to consider or if I just move on to a competitor?
Besides the drawing, also having a full annotation feature available with an arrow like Webex has is needed. Until MS Teams has this available, my trainings will stay with Webex.
Having it on the backlog is nice. Having it at the top of the backlog is way better!
It's really necessary for me... I am a teacher and I use teams for my personal coaching... Moreover I am a foreign language teacher so you can understand.
Please add this feature as soon as possible...
In a time where most meetings are happening virtually or even in a hybrid meeting, annotating on a screen is extremely vital to keep the meeting flowing smoothly. This is also key feature for virtual charrettes.

Now that Slack has changed ownership, we are taking active steps to replace Slack with Teams but the lack of this key feature will be a major impediment.
This should be such a basic feature I'm amazed that the Teams team has not implemented this.
Please please please..... i need this. I have to train people on software remotely while they share their screen, and verbally describing where to click is painful and unproductive. This should be a basic feature, especially in our new normal.
Alex, come on. I'm an alumni and know how this works. Someone needs to champion this. 8500 users in a small subset that found this forum is big. I don't understand how the GPM or Office VP has not made this a priority. Make it important - and stick with it. My suspicion, and the way that decisions were made when I was with the OCS and Lync teams - a customer big enough threatening to churn their business over the lack of a feature hasn't come forward. Hence, it never makes the feature bar.
Tell me I'm wrong. :)
Look for other open source programs that have this. Many of them have it. MS does not want to spend time on something that people need. Just like they do not focus on security. MS has lost its focus for years now...Everyone in MS should get a pink slip if this is not deployed tomorrow 7/21/2021. This might get them to get it done rather than keep it on backlog for years and years and years..... Time to move on since this will go nowhere with MS. Typical for them.
Stop awaiting for this. Webex has a 100 user basic plan that is free. It has this feature. MS will not be adding this any time soon. Give up and move on. MS does not care about its clients.
We renewed our Zoom Licenses last year because teams didn't have this feature.
12 months later... nothing? How is this possible Microsoft?

Any update on when this will be worked on? This is kind of a simple and very basic feature of virtual meetings that is absolutely necessary. Have you ever tried to collaborate with someone or provide instructions and have to say out loud "Click the 3rd button from the right on the top left menu...no not that one, the one next to it... No, the THIRD button from the right. That's left, not right." It's an utter waste of time and is extremely frustrating.
Our company is moving over to Teams full time and this is a really useful feature that we had on Slack

Our company of 50+ needs this
I really need this
It is truly stunning that Microsoft hasn't implemented this yet with all their available resources. Truly stunning... and truly embarrassing.
Hurry up, we need this. Slack and Zoom have it which you are losing customers to.
Please please please bring this feature to fruition! or provide a reason why it has been on the backlog for years now?

exactly. The only reason my office is using zoom over teams is because of this function. I really like the meeting history and attendance report in teams. Still, now we are using zoom and take attendance manually, just because of this simple function is so essential.
