Ability to play music while waiting for a meeting to start
It would be very useful if Teams had a built in way for a meeting organizer and/or presenter to be able to play some music at the very beginning of a meeting while waiting for everyone to join in. This would let everyone who is already in know that their audio is working, and would help cut down on potential chatter at the beginning that can sometimes derail the start of a meeting.
We've all heard people join in and start asking if things are working when all they hear is silence, or had to tell everyone repeatedly that the meeting will start shortly when we are the presenter. Teams should help solve this for us!
Bonus points if you let the Organizer/Presenter provide their own music selection :)
If MS had a feel for what presenters need when making a presentation - before during and after - they would have come up with solutions. Obviously they don't.
It doesn't take much to attend a presentation and note down elements that would make it a success. Music whilst waiting for attendees to join is a standard, and this is available with PowerPoint. I would have presumed that when Teams software was being "written it would be incorporated. Furthermore, the focus in a presenter is the presenter; the data presented in the form of files is an accessory. Consequently, there ought to be a provision to focus on the speaker - make the speaker prominent, push slides into the background and toggle between the two as required. Sadly this is missing
So since sharing your screen/app with system sounds tends to cause echo for all the other parties I had an idea. I remote to another computer and use that to join the meeting in mute mode and then share my music app (say spotify or my NAS audio station) with system sounds. Remotely from this I can play music to the meeting. Then join the meeting properly as a user with my local PC and headset.
It's not simple but it works.
something else maybe related. Can we play music without sharing a window? For example, playing music and having people dance together on screen? Right now, it seems 1. you need to share an app to do it, which takes away the videos of people in the call 2. if you play the music from an external source, Teams blocks it out (probably a side effect of a good feature to block background noise)
Would also like to play music in background for Teams celebrations.

Sachs it is not all the same. Once are about local computer music, and this one is about Teams app to play music for people while waiting for the host to join / attendees to join the meeting. Assume that you have a big meeting 20 - 200 people, there is no way everyone will connect at the same time.
I imagine music like waiting in elevator music with some periodic information "Your meeting is about to start soon, please hold on line". The people do not know if the sound is working or not. Or the speaker is muted, which device is output device. I help to configure the local PC for the meeting. It will improve performance of the meetings. Imagine 100 people checking the audio setup at beginning of meeting? We loose a lot of time.
All ideas circle around the same feature - make it configurable to: turn off / lower volume / keep on playing - music when user joins a call
