Anytime I click on the drafts folder in Outlook 2016, the Teams COM add-in causing the Outlook client to crash. I am able to get around this by disabling the Teams COM add-in.
I have the same issue. when I click on the draft folder outlook crash because of teams add in. When I disable the add in it works fine, but i need teams add in. Can someone please help
The solution ended up being removing the .Net 3.5 frameworks from all affected systems.
Outlook 2016 crash when creating Team meeting. Disabling the Team meeting add-in prevent outlook from crash but we need team meeting add-in. Can some one please provide steps to resolve this issue?
@Pierce, Your descriptions fits to us exactly. We are Win10, O365 ProPlus, everything latest updates. Tried all workarounds including several times uninstall (both manually and systematically with the help of MS support). Problems keeps coming back. Unable to disable the add-in. Each time we disable, next restart the add-in comes back. Hope there is a permanent update from MS on this issue
Issues with Teams Add-In causing outlook 2016 to crash - a ticket with MS has been open for over a month with no apparent progress being made. Happening on various versions of Microsoft with accounts of varying age.
Happens intermittently when creating Teams Meetings
Happens frequently when opening Teams Meetings links from Outlook 2016
We have already attempted the following -
Repair, Standard Uninstall reinstall, using the MS o365 complete uninstaller and reinstalling from the o365 portal site, recreating the user profile, confirmed on the latest version of Office and Win10 Enterprise
We started to encounter the same issue about 2 months ago and Microsoft support can't do anything about it. None of the workarounds fixed. We need them take this seriously. Our users are ****** to say the least. Affects all the users but still Microsoft does not consider this as a serious issue.
This is a big issue and It needs to be fixed. Microsoft has to get on this one!
I agree with the comment below:

Disabling obviously stops this behavior, but we use the add-in and would like to be able to use it without any work-around or magic."
One only wonders whether Microsoft is actually addressing the issue and whether they moderate these forums - considering Teams is now the official app that has taken over from Skype for Business.
When you contact Microsoft Support they merely advise you to check the forums for a work around. Also this issue was raised almost a year ago on their forums.

Disabling the Teams addin using registry key mentioned below helped fix my issue.
The Registry location now seems to be TeamsAddin.Connect instead of TeamsAddin.FastConnect, but do both to be safe.
Also, if you want to stop "Skype Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office" (also added upon running Teams, despite the DLL being part of Office!), its name is UCAddin.LyncAddin.1.
So I have a user that just got office 365 installed and if any of the add-ins under COM Add-ins are enabled Outlook Crashes at startup.

still an issue on outlook 2016 win 10, stops outlook loading, if you run outlook.exe /safe and then disable the teams add in, then outlook runs, we want to roll teams out and this is stopping us.
Still same problem, any fix from microsoft?

same here on random computers. No matter which teams version is used(x86 or x64) when you click on drafts - it crashes. Disabling teams add in solves the problem but that's not what we need
Same problem with Office Pro 2016 x64 but I managed to resolve this by installing 32bit version of Teams. Please fix x64 version of Teams.

Outlook crashes for me regularly with this add-in. It keeps reinstalling itself. Hard to believe this issues is a year old now and still not fixed.
go to regedit, navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\
Change load behavior to 0.
Right click on the Addins registry key and go to permissions. Go to advanced, the change the owner to yourself. Disable inheritable permissions, then remove all existing permissions. Add the local administrator with full permissions. Then add the local everyone account with read permissions.
This has kept the teams addin from turning back on since it only has read permissions to that registry key.
I renamed the Teams addin folder so it won't load and it works! However, every time Office updates, the folder is re-installed and I would have to rename it again. Only happens to one of my users.
I've also run into this issue. Only one of my users has this.
