Allow copying whole chat conversations
Currently, it's not possible to select & copy more than one message in a chat. When I try to select two or more messages, the focus stays on the first message making it impossible to copy whole chat.
There are some really ugly workarounds like: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams/Copying-conversations/td-p/62849 which I don't consider a solution of the situation.
I want to be able to select multiple messages at once and copy them by hitting CTRL+C.
Thank you for your suggestion! We really appreciate the feedback and idea. We have reviewed this request and started working on it. I’ll let you know as it nears completion.
Work just moved fr Skype to MS Teams, really really missing the auto-generated email I received for the Skype Conversation! Getting the information out of the Teams chat has been quite the challenge. Unbelievable this was not taken into consideration as a business requirement before the transition. Please provide a targeted Prod release date for this capability. This enhancement request looks like it is over 2.5 years old!
I can't believe that we can't copy a full chat conversation and save or email it. And this is why people still use Skype.
Are you kidding me, when you do not have a feature to copy chats. Some products of MS really suck

Why just "started" in Teams? After so many requests and frustrations?
Why not use in Teams all options available in Skype, for example, where I can Ctrl+A to select "all" conversation, then Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V.
"all" - because not all pieces are selected - so I have to fish for missing and then save them individually
When pasting intermediately into Notepad (to remove all formatting), I have to save as Unicode, otherwise all time is replaced by "???" - why not ansi?

2 years later it still does not work
Hi, all. Very important to have this functionality. And, if possible, can the chat be sent/logged to RTF or something, for easy archiving?

Selecting text in teams chat window is getting on my nerves. I select few words from a reply but it selects everything on that reply. Its more than 2 years, still you guys are fixing it. Shame on you guys.
2 Years and still "working on it".... apes

Feeling hopeful! Especially important for the chat that goes with a meeting, a lot of content ends up in that chat.
Unable to select the chat conversation and Copy them by hitting CTRL+C. I want to Select All the chats conversation by CTRL+A and then Copy them by hitting CTRL+C. How can i do it?

I found that if you pop out the conversation, you can then selects several pages (Select All works too) and copy for paste. It's not pretty, and some of the avatars and icons are contextually unrelated, but I can then paste a long conversation elsewhere. HOW DID YOU SELECT THE MESSAGES?
