Allow copying whole chat conversations
Currently, it's not possible to select & copy more than one message in a chat. When I try to select two or more messages, the focus stays on the first message making it impossible to copy whole chat.
There are some really ugly workarounds like: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams/Copying-conversations/td-p/62849 which I don't consider a solution of the situation.
I want to be able to select multiple messages at once and copy them by hitting CTRL+C.
Thank you for your suggestion! We really appreciate the feedback and idea. We have reviewed this request and started working on it. I’ll let you know as it nears completion.
Count this as another vote for this feature!

Why is this not a thing? Please Microsoft build basic functionality!
Soooo, almost a year later... :) Slack has it, but still nothing here.
No updates? Wow? Amazed! This feature is LOOONG overdue!

Right now, you can select up to 10 messages & then copy them (you have to start highlighting within the message though). We need to be able to select a lot more than that at a time though. Going 10 at a time is painful - but better than nothing, like before.
Maybe allow any user to access any chat logs they are part of; want to be able to search through and copy/edit content to create kb documentation (in other apps, such as Office for step-by-steps, etc.) discussed in team chats.

I would love for you to have this option. Skype has it -you right click and can pick, EDIT, COPY, Select messages (you can pick as many as you want), then you have the option to FORWARD. That would be great to have added, I am voting!

Expected/tablestakes functionality that exists in all competitor products. Frustrating every time I need to piece together multiple cp/paste.
If teams is taking over for numerous other windows or office apps then it needs to have the same functionality that was available to each of those individual apps. Period. Without this you are hamstringing Teams and you will get a fair amount of pushback from users when a company tries to incorporate Teams into their software lineup.

Definitely we need this feature.. I can't believe it doesn't yet.
Started working on it 8 months ago. Really!?

Right click on conversation, copy conversation to text would be nice!
A better solution is urgently required. I can't believe this is something we have to beg for...
why is this taking so long?
cisco Jabber can do it!!!
It was always possible before until Microsoft took over and disabled it! Stupid!
I am also copying a chat of my girlfriend manually now. I am already scrolling upwards for two hours and am still not there. It takes ages this way! Such a waste of time!

We need the ability to copy whole conversations today. For us it is an essential part of documenting design decisions. We switched to Teams without understanding this unacceptable limitation, which never crossed my mind until I tried to save a whole conversation in Word a few minutes ago.
Please address this issue. Many thanks.
Why can't you copy and paste a conversation in Teams?!
This is something I have to deal with at least 20 times a day, EVERY day. Skype did it wonderfully. Biba did it wonderfully, MSN MESSENGER and AIM had this baked in, for crying out loud.
How does this only have 685 votes, when other things have thousands?
Really need the ability to email contents of a chat to those who do not have access to teams - we are needing this multiple times a day to update vendors on project updates.
