Allow copying whole chat conversations
Currently, it's not possible to select & copy more than one message in a chat. When I try to select two or more messages, the focus stays on the first message making it impossible to copy whole chat.
There are some really ugly workarounds like: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams/Copying-conversations/td-p/62849 which I don't consider a solution of the situation.
I want to be able to select multiple messages at once and copy them by hitting CTRL+C.
Thank you for your suggestion! We really appreciate the feedback and idea. We have reviewed this request and started working on it. I’ll let you know as it nears completion.

Is Microsoft simply not supporting this product? This is a BASIC functionality whose lack SERIOUSLY degrades its use.
This feature looks to be still not enable in Microsoft teams.
Any updates - when can we get this feature in MT?
I need this important funktion really! Now!

18 months and still not done? This app should have been window office foundation code features from the start. Copy Paste RTF should have been in there from day 1. My company is forcing Teams on us over Skype Business - Cut off is June but no one uses it any longer because we got the read the riot act and use Teams - boo hoo. Why do company insist on moving to inferior use of computers? The Cloud (in general) is ****. Sharepoint and OneDrive Arggh. frustrates me to no end. I have to upload and download files now rather than just dragging and dropping. On a UNC path you could drag and drop stuff no problem sharing was easy. Just right click an object file or folder while holding shift and get the "Copy as Path" then paste into an email to a colleague. Everything is just harder again, like back in the day of terminals and main frames. In Teams I can have folders in the files tab but is just a lot harder. So the Cloud (does not matter if its Google, AWS or MS) - good luck there - wait until it gets a COVID of its own. We will all be back to the Stone Age - back to Brick & Mortar stores.
You can do a print screen of Microsoft Teams and paste in numerous places and crop if necessary. Copy and paste, come on Microsoft.... step it up!

What is the timeline?
If you don't have a long conversation you can select and copy up to 8 messages at a time and paste onto word or excel
Sometimes copy (Ctrl-C) works, some times it does not.I can copy multiple messages in a chat if it's not too many, does not span a day, and does not contain images. But I'm uncessfull when I violate some combination of those.
Our enterprise platform just moved from Skype to Teams. Same complaint as everyone else for these past years. Skype would at least save Conversation history in Outlook so you could archive/forward as needed. ..and then our IT has put a time limit on all Teams messages so they vaporize after ~20 days
Still not fixed, and NO ctrl+A does not select all in microsoft teams.
Wow, there is so much year 2000 thinking in these comments.
It works for me if I click at the very top of the chat window and then do Ctrl + a to select all then Ctrl + C to copy it. It then allows me to paste the entire contents of the chat.
Teams is not an improvement over Skype for Business. Don't understand why Microsoft put out a product inferior to older product (Skype). What happened to progress and not regression?
Can not IM privately anymore, see more than 4 people pictures in a meeting, or cut and paste a chat?. Come on Microsoft. Have to use Zoom now. Sad...Sad.
Kindly share the progress on the feature. It's been well over two years now since when this post has been reviewed...This is a very important feature that is affecting the clients
How much time can it take to provide this feature?? There was no feedback since 2018 B. C. Please at least provide a feedback when it is expected to be available!
I concur...this is an absolute requirement for formal change request settings. Looking at Suphatra's response above, that was 14 months ago...this needs to be fixed now, or the tool cannot be used in a professional setting...
Without this, usefulness is severely limitted: chats initiated by others to me usually involve creating change requests; for which an e-mail/textual record is essential. Skype always sent me the chat on disconnect; Teams doesn't even allow sending the entire session ... not even selecting it all and CTL-C to copy.
We just tried to use it for our weekly standup and we usually export the chat to create a summary email that gets circulated to the team. It's kind of a deal-breaker for us to use Teams for this meeting if we can't export the chat; copying a hundred individual chat messages just isn't practical.
I used this all the time in Skype, please fix it in Teams.
such basic funtions still not implemented, when they should be among the first ones. I have the impression that Teams is still a work in progress before getting ready even for a beta test ...
