Allow copying whole chat conversations
Currently, it's not possible to select & copy more than one message in a chat. When I try to select two or more messages, the focus stays on the first message making it impossible to copy whole chat.
There are some really ugly workarounds like: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams/Copying-conversations/td-p/62849 which I don't consider a solution of the situation.
I want to be able to select multiple messages at once and copy them by hitting CTRL+C.

Thank you for your suggestion! We really appreciate the feedback and idea. We have reviewed this request and started working on it. I’ll let you know as it nears completion.

Should be able to Ctrl+A to select the entirety of messages in a Teams Chat. Even better would be a button or other menu option to copy entire chat.

I agree with Muhammad, anony, Raju, etc. and ask for a way to copy an entire chat in another format. Thanks.

Its been over 2 years we heard from Suphatra that they started working on it.
Any update since then? -

Please can we have an update on this? Not being able to copy an entire chat is really slowing my daily work as all my communications in Teams need to be reported in another system. I'd appreciate a feedback on the timelines for this update.
Many thanks

Is this really going to come out? There are now competitors available and you are still not considering this option ????

Microsoft Likes to waste peoples times, since only bill gates time is important, did you not know? this sort of insane waste of time microsoft does with products should be illegal, and punishable by jail.

has this been fixed? Can I copy long conversations on teams chat yet?

Microsoft will never fix this. This is a request by a user of Teams, not an Administrator of Teams. If a common User could document their conversations, then the Organization could not claim plausible-deniability, that the conversation ever took-place.
Microsoft is extremely pro-corporate, and extremely anti-individual. Understandable. They know where the money comes from.

Is this available now. Was it an oversight that it was never included to begin with

This is absolutely essential and a basic feature from day 1.
Not being able to copy-paste is a major drawback to using Teams. -

Needs to apply to Channels as well as Chats within Teams

Hello @Suphatra. I notice this Idea is from 2018. Do you have any update on whether it was adopted and is in development?

I want to be able to copy all messages in a meeting chat and paste into a document as part of the record of the meeting OR be able to print to pdf the full chat.

Needs to be both for conversations and team channels...part or all of the info. Copy, download, etc.
This is a big headache for our team.
But yes, they said they were working on it in 2018.... -

Hey MS - really?
It has been almost two years since Petr asked to have this feature implemented. 2364+ votes later still nothing on the horizon... so sad!
