Allow copying whole chat conversations
Currently, it's not possible to select & copy more than one message in a chat. When I try to select two or more messages, the focus stays on the first message making it impossible to copy whole chat.
There are some really ugly workarounds like: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams/Copying-conversations/td-p/62849 which I don't consider a solution of the situation.
I want to be able to select multiple messages at once and copy them by hitting CTRL+C.
Thank you for your suggestion! We really appreciate the feedback and idea. We have reviewed this request and started working on it. I’ll let you know as it nears completion.
Working on it?? This basic functionality that should have never been an issue in the first place, because it's more of a bug on your part is reported from 2017 for Christ's sake!

C'mon, Microsoft... this is basic functionality that we had and loved for years in Skype.

An update on the status of this request would really be appreciated. When can we expect this to be available?

This is basic functionality - how is it still not fixed YEARS later? This is madness!

The whole Teams user community all around the world has been waiting for this feature.
It appears you have to highlight all messages manually yourself, scrolling if that is required... and then can do copy / paste from there, which is great.
You cannot simply do a CTRL + A and have an entire string selected on its own. It requires more manual effort.
So success, mostly.
And perhaps we can update this thread to "resolved"... makes it look like I need to go work at Microsoft if I am allowed almost 3 years to complete a perceived-simple project :)
Brilliant!!! Basic function missed why . . . and why after years of such a basic function is not fixed.
Given some more players in this space - definitely rethinking commitment to MS Office given the lack of integration on such basic functions.

A person of their word, there has been silence ever since.

Yeah, an amazing suggestion. Who would have ever thought that users might want to copy and paste conversations!
Nearly 4 years after this ground-breaking seed of an idea was planted has there been any progress?
Don't you just hate Microsoft for this? Unbelievable! This simple feature is so needed, so overdue, so promised and so not delivered yet, and unfortunately many of us cant escape from it due to our corporate ties to MS 365. I mean even if they gave us back the Conversation History function that was so useful in Skype, it would be better than this stupid cut & paste each tiny piece of the conversation.

It’s June 2021 and still an issue
@kat isn't possible if the conversation is too long where it pages the data - you can't select the whole conversation. you have to do it in pieces.
What the ****, Microsoft? You started working on this essential feature in 2018 and we still don't have it?
It is possible to copy full chat conversations in chat. I do this regularly

When will this be implemented?
Still not there. Its a very important feature
Really useful feature .... waiting .... thanks ... alex

I suspect that almost every Windows application for the last 30 years has implemented the ctrl-c "copy selection to clipboard" functionality. Now, I realize that this is a bit more difficult, because you download the messages dynamically in chunks as the user scrolls past them, up or down. But surely, on a modern computer with gigs of ram, someone in your firm can figure out the logic of how to cache these messages when "selecting" them, there-by enabling ctrl-c copy? (Just a suggestion, since you all seem to be out of ideas.) Or do you no longer have any developers and only have sales/marketing personnel?

It's been two years and this feature hasn't been set up? Come on! something as easy as copy-paste a conversation shouldn't be such a hard time!
Please get this feature on the program!
