I created a OneNote Document in Teams. There's no option to search in that document. It requires to open document in OneNote online or OneNote application to be able to search.
Please Fix this issue!
Not being able to find OneNote content from the Teams search bar renders it completely useless to us.

Teams does find OneNote pages if they are stored on Sharepoint as part of a Team, but we cannot open the page from the Teams search. Ideally, when a page is found in the search in Teams, I would like to be able to open it.
Adding another plea to add the search functionality to OneNote when used as a tab within Teams - without it OneNote is going to be useless to me.
Please fix this ASAP I am creating a data base for work and we use TEAMS but it is too many layers and adds confusion having people use both the OneNote app and TEAMS, especially because we just trained them to open the OneNote in TEAMS and now having to get them to use another app will cause confusion. However some are already confused because when they search OneNote in TEAMS they think they are searching the entire doc and they are only searching a single section or page and they are not finding their answers and are confused why they can’t/aren’t search/ing the whole doc.
So the Search has been added to the OneNote Teams integration, but it is very poor compared to the search in the main OneNote app. Search results are broad and you cannot specify specific phrases. It basically returns hits for *any* of the words you specify. It is so useless they might as well have not done anything. ...

I'm trying to incorporate Teams into our facility workflow. At this moment I am looking into using OneNote as the app for managing all our projects. The fact I can't search the document for text may be a deal killer. I am looking into other options now. I want project notes to be saved for historical documentation so need them to not get lost - that is why I picked it over WIKI. Now just not sure what to do
Please add search to OneNote in Teams!!! Or add a search feature to the Teams Wiki at least...
Totally agree it is a must. While it is nice to be able to search on a page or a section, the entire notebook needs to be searchable. This is critically important, because without it, we are having to teach our users to not use the default viewer in teams, but to launch the notebook in the app in order to have a usable search function. Many of our users are not regular OneNote users and this is causing confusion and support work. "I searched and didn't find anything." "Did you use the Teams OneNote viewer or the app?" We want to keep people in the teams environment and make it simple, but if it doesn't support the work, it's actually adding steps. Please add the search capability to the entire notebook inside teams.
I agree with everyone else. In "Teams application" you need to be able to search all notes at once. I have the regular "onenote" from Microsoft but wanted to switch to Teams but this is absurd how you can not search all of your notes. The regular onenote you have no issue search the entire notebook.
The search function for the entire Note book is a must.
Without it, OneNote becomes almost useless!
We have a big database with lots of sections. It is designed to allow people to search the information by them-self and to teach them-self (to learn and jump from one topic to the other ( à la Wikipedia). If they can't search the whole note-book, it's useless.
Sometimes, I wonder what the developer think. This is the most useful function of Onenote and they drop it. Crazy!
This is a requirement for my company's purposes. Work arounds (such as opening the app) is a layer of complication and confusion. This is a no brainer, we should be able to search the whole notebook.

It a big issue that you can't search in Wiki or OneNote!

I made notes in OneNote in an MS Teams meeting and could not find them at all!

I'm advocating for OneNote in my unit, but just discovered that within Teams, which is becoming a hub for us, the Teams search function pulls up the section, but not the page with the hit. And then if you link to a OneNote notebook in a channel tab, the search there only searches page/section, but not the notebook. So disappointing! Please make the Teams search display the OneNote pages with the hits and please make the whole notebook searchable as well.

If you are using Internet Explorer to view your OneNote page, you should see "OPEN IN ONENOTE" near the top next to FILE, HOME, INSERT, VIEW. Once you have the notebook open in OneNote, the search field is in the upper right corner and can be used to search the ENTIRE notebook.
This is a must
This is a must, uservoice is useless by the way

If I can't search my OneNotes they're almost useless. we have so many things documented in there you have to be able to search. especially since there's no sorting of tabs, no auto-ordering, etc. it's too free-wheel. def a need!

My department is new to TEAMS and I'm a OneNote advocate. However, the ability to only search within a section, or within a page in a section is not as helpful as being able to search the entire notebook. I see this was requested over a year ago from the comments below. Is there a workaround?
