Bose Bluetooth headphones keeps dropping during meeting
Almost every meeting I attend on Microsoft Teams forces my Bose wireless headphones to disconnect during the meeting on my 2016 Macbook pro. Not only does it disconnect, but it unmutes my speakers on the Macbook so everyone in the office can hear what's happening in the meeting. It only happens on Teams and is really rather unacceptable. I avoid teams as much as possible as a result.

Same issue here with Sennheiser MB660 both Teams and Skype for Business under Windows 10. Although it seems more like it is just going into standby mode not really losing connection. It just quietly turns off. I did not have any problems when using them with Teams under Debian 9 and 10.

Same problem for me with Teams. Losing the connection all the time, i can't use my Bose quietcomfort 35 ii for Teams meetings!!
I have no problems with other connections like from my Asus phone when someone calls or when i just listen to music from the computer.

I had the same issue, I changed the standby time of my bose headset through the app to "Never", then removed the device from my laptop's Bluetooth list and reconnected. Now I'm using the app and listening to voice calls through my bose headset, and speaking through the laptop's microphone.
Thanks to @ozgur and another anonymous person who wrote these recommendations.

I had to change the headphone settings using the Bose app. in my phone to standby timer = never. It solved the problem.

I would recommend clearing the device list on your devices and headphones to renew the connection. This should fix the issue of the dropping of the signal, you can do this by powering on your headset, then slide and hold the Power switch toward the Bluetooth icon for about 10 seconds until you hear "Bluetooth device list cleared"

I have the same issue (QC35ii). I thought it was a peculiarity of my laptop, but it seems rather common!

Same issue with Bose NC 700's. Super painful. I end up connected to teams on my phone (no problem there) - and then connected just with the screen on my laptop.

Same issue, using Bose QC35ii + Surface Book 2 including latest (as of Nov. '19) f/w updates, running Teams on Windows 10 with latest (as of Nov'19) updates.
Bluetooth connection times out and shuts down after ~20 minutes. No similar issue with Teams on the same configuration streaming audio (Groove, YouTube, etc.), also no issue with Teams on Android using the same Bose headphone, this only happens with Teams on Windows and removing/re-adding the headphones doesn't resolve the problem.
Hoping Teams team will see this, I'm happy to provide additional config/usage info but am anxious for a solution.

Try to delete the bluetooth device and set it up again. It worked fine for me

Is there anything we can provide to help someone look into this? I have the same problem with multiple bluetooth headsets that disconnect every 8-10 minutes during a Teams call. These same headsets work fine for listening to music, or making calls via Skype, Duo, and Webex from the same computer.
This is an awful experience, so is anyone from the Teams developerment team listening?

Same issue - I thought it was the headphones that were faulty, so I'm quite happy to come across this thread - is there a fix coming Microsoft?

I'm having the same issue. Drops connection about 10 minutes into MS Teams call.

Microsoft Teams is ****** software that's why. My headset keeps losing the bluetooth connection every other second while in a conference and it's so annoying because it is the only program that is causing this problem, and it's the only program we use for conferences.......

HI Teams team
I have been having a similar issue - only worse.
We have to use teams as per policy for meetings.
I have a surface Pro 6 and Plantronics wireless headset that support skype for business.
Every single teams meeting that i have had for past 2 months ( which is how long i have had the surface pro, never had this issue on the lenovo laptop with the same headset) my headset will disconnect on its own ,the audio will switch to surface pro speakers for about 30 secs and then connect back to the wireless headset on it own in about 10 secs again. So there is a period of 1 min during which i cant hear anyone and no one can hear me and the whole situation gets weird every single time.
Any advise on what needs to be done to fix this.regards

Hi Microsoft Teams team,
I would like to add that exactly this started to happening to me since last week.
I'm using 2017 MacBook Pro, iOS 10.14.3, Microsoft Teams version: 1.1.00.31953, Bose Quietcomfort 35 (first version). After starting Teams conference call, Teams client kills bluetooth connection between MacBook and Bose headphones, and also I'm unable to pair another bluetooth headphones (AirPods) while one meeting running.
Thank you very much for looking at it! :)
Kind Regards
