Bose Bluetooth headphones keeps dropping during meeting
Almost every meeting I attend on Microsoft Teams forces my Bose wireless headphones to disconnect during the meeting on my 2016 Macbook pro. Not only does it disconnect, but it unmutes my speakers on the Macbook so everyone in the office can hear what's happening in the meeting. It only happens on Teams and is really rather unacceptable. I avoid teams as much as possible as a result.
Same issue with Sennheiser MB Pro 2 for weeks. Trying other headsets they show the same bad behaviour. All that helps seems to restart Windows 10.
When connecting the headsets with Android devices I had no problems whatsoever. So it's definitely a problem with Teams and BT phones. I hope Microsoft is fixing this rather sooner than later...

Also have this problem, the BT sound drops after a minute or 20 in a teams meeting. Switching between the audio device in teams to pc speaker and back to BT resolves the sound.
When I use a Sennheiser headset (SC660) on an MS Teams call a get disconnected from the call randomly. I have updated the Sennheiser device driver, changed the USB port the Sennheiser headset plugs into. Did not fix the issue.
The same Sennheiser headset works perfectly on ZOOM calls and Skype calls. If anyone has insight on how to get a fix the issue I would be extremely grateful.
I have been facing this exact problem with my Bose QC Headphones whilst on Teams (Desktop) calls on my Windows 10 Surface Laptop.
Whilst I am on calls my headset disconnects and audio streams out of my laptop. I have to flick the switch on headphones quickly within a couple of seconds it re connects. It is very annoying when on calls.
I have found it is almost exactly every 20 minutes and happens twice if not 3 times on 1 hour long calls.
Windows is fully updated, My headset is fully updated (Was occuring before and after software update) and headphones work fine with other devices and when being used without teams on my laptop.
I had a related problem, but different symptoms
Was trying to configure my Pioneer Wireless Bluetooth SE-C7BT to work on a teams meeting using only the Web Browser (not the windows client, although i do have that installed).
Had the headphones working correctly through the HP Probook laptop I was using, having used them successfully with Zoom for a long running student tutorial (2+ hours) an hour earlier.
First time into the teams meeting, they wouldn't work. I couldn't hear any sound. All configuration settings looked fine in teams, but I changed them anyway. No joy. Exited the meeting and came back in, checking settings again before entering the meeting. All looked fine. Still no sound on the call. (Note: I'm unclear whether the headset mic was working).
I gave up, left the call, reverted to a wired Pioneer headset, and all was working fine.
About 3 minutes later, I lost sound in the wired headset earbuds. Taking them out, I could hear sound coming from the bluetooth set.
The only interaction I recall in the teams meeting at that time was switching to open a PPTX file as a teams file in the web browser to get ready to present it on the call, and having the teams meet window "minimise" into the top left corner.
Also just to say that this is akin to the old windows versions that crashed unpredictably but often. It is Appalling that this was first reported two years ago?!?!
my Panasonic were the rp-btd10
Same problem with my Panasonic BT phones. Tried several things. Nothing works. Only teams for me, to my knowledge. Serious bug for a conferencing system
I was able to resolve this by using all the solutions listed here:
- Making my bluetooth "headphones" as default (See Devon CS post)
- Disabling the "headset" as an output source (See Devon CS post)
- What Irinel Onofrei (see post) to do in teams
Not sure which solution solved it but it's working now
What the User Voice is made for if this particular topic is acutal since 2017 and there is still no any fix offered by Microsoft?! What the f.. is going on there? In the 2020, we cannot use a bluetooth headphones during a conference becuase they are disconnecting every 10-15 minutes. It's just a circus! Please deal with this problem at last!
Absolute same issue of fragile Bluetooth connection between my Boult Audio ProBass Boost and HP Pavilion laptop (Windows OS). It just does not stay connected for long. Is there any solution?

Here's what worked for me:
Bluetooth headphones on and connected. Right click on tray icon for volume, choose "Playback Devices". My headphones have a mic, so they're also a "headset". They were set as Default Communications Device under headset (yay!), but they were NOT set as default device for headphones (boo!), and this is why they kept turning off. So, right click on the Headphones option for your headphones listed, and choose "Set as Default Device". Now both headset and headphones options have green checks, and no turning off.
I am also facing the same issue (i.e. the audio drops after exactly 10 mins of the call) with my newly bought SONY CH710N headset on teams, is there any way out?

The same problem, it drives me nuts, I have bought brand new Bluetooth for an office call, it gets disconnected and switches off the Bluetooth in every 20 minutes. I was about to return then found this website
When I try youtube or any other website, it works well.
Anyone has any solution for the same??

Please try the following:
Go to Teams
Click your image (top right hand side)
Uncheck all options listed there (toggle to disable)
..and let me know if it worked (email@example.com).

Having the same problem on : Lenovo X260, T495, Dell XPS 2in1 7390! I am using Sennheiser PXC-550 and I had this problem on two pairs. I sent the initial pair of Sennheiser in service because I thought they were faulty and the second pair does the same thing....
After about 10-20 mins in a Teams call, the headsets disconnect from BT, there is no way to reconnect them unless I restart the laptop (even if I manually restart the audio service they won't start working again). The headsets are fine since, when connected via cable to the laptop they have no issue whatsoever. So definitely there's a Teams - Bluetooth problem. I found no windows logs nor Teams logs which would indicate something went wrong. Absolutely no problem when the headsets are connected to my phone, TV or other devices.
I have same issue with AKG Y50BT headset. Every 30 minutes on a teams conference, it will power off the BT headset and switch to computer speakers. This does not happen in any other app or even if the computer is sitting at idle for hours. Headset will not auto power off.
Also if using teams phone to make a call, the headset will stay on as long as you are in the call. It only seems to shut off when doing teams audio/video meetings that are not through the teams calling features (with an actual phone #).
I seem to have fixed this problem with my Taotronics SoundLiberty 79 earbuds with mic. Before the audio would consistently disconnect a few minutes into the Zoom call. The earbuds have 2 modes - Headphone (stereo) and Headset (hands-free). I disabled the Stereo mode in the Windows Sound Control panel in Settings and this seems to have fixed the issue. I suspect Zoom had been trying to toggle from hands-free to stereo when I hadn't been speaking for a few minutes and got into trouble and it doesn't seem to handle changing between audio devices very well. Hope this helps.
Hey guys, I had a similar problem with my new JBL Club 700BT, I am using a Lenovo T490 laptop and I was getting disconnected around 20min, the microphone would just go off on Teams and Skype for business.
I have updated my Intel Wireless Bluetooth Driver from version 21.1x.xx to 220.127.116.11
and this seems to have fixed the problem, my microphone does not disconnect anymore, tested both on skype and teams.
I found the latest driver on the lenovo website
Please check for the latest bluetooth driver from your respective Laptop manufacturers website and update manually and restart the system.
Hope this helps.
As a programmer, I have to ask, what in the world is Teams doing? This can't be that difficult to solve. It drives me nuts when this happens and then MST seems to ignore user input.
