Bose Bluetooth headphones keeps dropping during meeting
Almost every meeting I attend on Microsoft Teams forces my Bose wireless headphones to disconnect during the meeting on my 2016 Macbook pro. Not only does it disconnect, but it unmutes my speakers on the Macbook so everyone in the office can hear what's happening in the meeting. It only happens on Teams and is really rather unacceptable. I avoid teams as much as possible as a result.
I have the same issue. B&O H9 headphones. Disconnects in MS teams - only. Very annoying.
Only MS Teams has this problem. The sound stops after a few moments. All other programs are working fine. Unbelievable that Microsoft cannot fix this problem. Or do the want to sell only their own BT stuff?
It saddens me that this issue is still present and that it would seem Microsoft are not going to fix it. I've been blaming my new Sony's but no, it's teams! Will be trying a meeting from within the browser to see if it helps. The app, as people have commented below, is useless :(
Same issue with my AKG Y50 BT headset:
* In MS Teams, the sound switches from the headset to the laptop's speakers (switching the headset on again undo's this switch)
* In Skype for Business, I'm just put on hold, have to power the headset on again, and resume the call (often twice or even three times).
My take on the issue is that Skype / Teams doesn't send any keepalive packages to the headset, triggering the headset to enter standby mode. I don't have this issue with other conferencing systems (Webex, Zoom, Jitsi)

Also the bluetooth ears I use, RHA , ( not the cheapest brand ) disconnect, only with Microsoft Teams.
After trying all settings, leaving the meeting and reconnect is the only solution to be able to join for 10 minutes ,and then this all repeats.
My Soundcore Q10 headphones do the same thing. During Microsoft Teams meetings I lose sound and voice. The head[hones stay connected but they do not transmit audio until I disconnect and reconnect or toggle Bluetooth off and back on. Music streaming is fine all day long. It is just during meetings, about 20 minutes in.
For the people using Bose and the headset shutting down after a certain time, you can try to check the 'Standby Timer' in the App Settings. If its shutting down after 20 mins, you probably have the Standby Timer on 20 mins. It worked for me at least
Same here for the JBL Sprint and JBL Jump. A collegeau of mine has the JBL LIVE 650BTNC and that one works fine with Teams meetings. Also tried the settings some people mentioning here but still no solution other then using one with a wire.
The JBL Sprint and JUMP work fine with movies/music.
I have the same issue that my connection gets lost after about 10-20 minuted whilst in a meeting. Audio stops completely but I am able to use the microphone for some reason...
Has anyone found a solution yet or heard anything from Microsoft about this? I am using brand new JBL TUNE220TWS.
I have similar problem. I have tried multiple blue tooth and only one works perfectly. On other two, the microphone stop working in few minutes.
I found I had two devices available in Manage sound devices for my Taotronics 79's. Headphones and headset. I've removed the headphone device and will try again.
Same problem here. Using Harman Kardon Onyx 4 speaker that has a built in microphone, connected via bluetooth. Happens to both MS Teams and Zoom calls. The first 10 min, everything works fine and then at the 10 min mark (to the second), I can no longer hear audio but my microphone will still work (so the bluetooth connection is fine)
I've tried reloading drivers, played around with sound settings (e.g. making sure my 'headset' was marked as the default device, etc.) with no luck.
I'm having the same issue too with Bose QC35ii. Mic disconnects roughly 30 mins in every single time. None of the solutions listed here have worked for me so far.
Its a Bose issue I think, happens to me when listening to YouTube with QC35, AirPods are fine.
I have this problem too. It is very frustrating as the internal microphone in my laptop is like a mouse tying to scurry quietly.
Same issue with Sennheiser MB Pro 2 for weeks. Trying other headsets they show the same bad behaviour. All that helps seems to restart Windows 10.
When connecting the headsets with Android devices I had no problems whatsoever. So it's definitely a problem with Teams and BT phones. I hope Microsoft is fixing this rather sooner than later...

Also have this problem, the BT sound drops after a minute or 20 in a teams meeting. Switching between the audio device in teams to pc speaker and back to BT resolves the sound.
When I use a Sennheiser headset (SC660) on an MS Teams call a get disconnected from the call randomly. I have updated the Sennheiser device driver, changed the USB port the Sennheiser headset plugs into. Did not fix the issue.
The same Sennheiser headset works perfectly on ZOOM calls and Skype calls. If anyone has insight on how to get a fix the issue I would be extremely grateful.
I have been facing this exact problem with my Bose QC Headphones whilst on Teams (Desktop) calls on my Windows 10 Surface Laptop.
Whilst I am on calls my headset disconnects and audio streams out of my laptop. I have to flick the switch on headphones quickly within a couple of seconds it re connects. It is very annoying when on calls.
I have found it is almost exactly every 20 minutes and happens twice if not 3 times on 1 hour long calls.
Windows is fully updated, My headset is fully updated (Was occuring before and after software update) and headphones work fine with other devices and when being used without teams on my laptop.
I had a related problem, but different symptoms
Was trying to configure my Pioneer Wireless Bluetooth SE-C7BT to work on a teams meeting using only the Web Browser (not the windows client, although i do have that installed).
Had the headphones working correctly through the HP Probook laptop I was using, having used them successfully with Zoom for a long running student tutorial (2+ hours) an hour earlier.
First time into the teams meeting, they wouldn't work. I couldn't hear any sound. All configuration settings looked fine in teams, but I changed them anyway. No joy. Exited the meeting and came back in, checking settings again before entering the meeting. All looked fine. Still no sound on the call. (Note: I'm unclear whether the headset mic was working).
I gave up, left the call, reverted to a wired Pioneer headset, and all was working fine.
About 3 minutes later, I lost sound in the wired headset earbuds. Taking them out, I could hear sound coming from the bluetooth set.
The only interaction I recall in the teams meeting at that time was switching to open a PPTX file as a teams file in the web browser to get ready to present it on the call, and having the teams meet window "minimise" into the top left corner.
