Often times in our company it becomes apparent that a thread is moving into territory that would be better off moved to a separate channel, however that "move" could be into a channel that some of the members do not have favorited or followed, and coworkers who were following the initial thread can miss the jump quite easily and never see the resolution. Providing a link from one thread to another that opened (or is directly related) in a separate channel could really help prevent back-tracking to old or dead threads to keep pointing people to the "new" or "current" one.
Yes!This is exactly what is wrong with teams.
I concur with linked threads or the ability to move an entire thread over to another channel. I would limit the type of threads that could be moved into another channel to only threads that were created with a subject line. That way the channel stays organized and prevents it from being cluttered with a lot of broken messages. My team utilize a General Channel for sharing information. We also have separate channels which corresponds to different areas in our line of work. Those separate channels are only for posting finalized solutions after collaborating in our General Channel. Currently we’re having to copy and paste into other channels; which is very time consuming. If you can make this happen it would definitely increase our teams efficiency and productivity. Teams would become my team’s primary tool for collaborating. Thanks!
