Silence notifications for selected team
I am a member of several teams but I only want notifications for my main/home team. Should be able to silence notifications on a per team basis. Per channel for that matter. Do it like Facebook. On any notification you receive, long press and choose "stop receiving notifications for this team/channel/conversation/person"... etc.
2017... my word. It's 2021
I'm in a big, worldwide company on a singular shared app. There are many individual Teams and inside each many individual channels. If I join a specific "Team", it likely means I am not actually part of that "Team". I may just be reading or asking a question or replying to someone who may have pinged my name directly.
But, I should NOT be notified in those by @TeamName. I am NOT actually part of that Team. So why do I have to suffer these notifications and constant spam? There is no way that I can find to disable @General pings or @TeamName pings. Why is this very basic feature missing? This seems so obvious to me and I've tolerated it for one day too many.
I've started to leave teams immediately after interacting with them. Which then means I lose whatever chat history or search abilities I previously would have had to reference those messages. I also have to lookup the team name to join them again out of literally 1000s of team names.
I cannot fathom this design.

I would have thought with the billions of dollars that Microsoft has collected over the years selling their mediocre Lose Doze operating system, they would have enough money to hire a decent UX design team, a reasonably competent management team, and at least average software developers. Seriously, how can you roll out a tool with so many basic features missing, and then even when the users ask you for them, ignore them for years together?
This is a huge time waster for us. The usage of team name as a global team notification sholud be able to be disabled. It's causes dozens of people to have their focus shifted dozens of times a day. That unneeded context switching is a huge productivity sink that really reduces the "value" of this product.
Slack can do it. Why you not?
Included in this, it would be good if we can silence notifications from the team even if tagged with the "@" symbol. I have disabled notifications in the channel, but since everyone uses the @ symbol to tag the channel, I still get notified which means I ultimately left the channel to make sure I wouldn't get notified and only join the channel during my duty week.

I would really love to silence the notifications without having to silence my PC.

I am getting a notification every time someone mentions a team's name. This is distracting me throughout the day. Really dumb.

Without this I find myself leaving teams that I'd like to be able to drop in on once every while. I don't want my notification tray being polluted by these.
It's really annoying to have teams in my cellphone because notifications pops up all the time, there are several conversations and teams I'm not "allow" or want to leave but by no means I'd want to have notifications from them, this is quite basic to silent some chat/team/channel/person.

Would be great if you could silence a team which would automatically silence all channels in the team and also silence mentions to the team.
Then ideally only turn on notifications for the channels you are actually interested in following.
Notifications need to be more customizable. If a team has lots of channels, most members of the team won't be interested in all the channels - that's the whole point to splitting it up into channels! You can switch off notifications for new posts and channel mentions in a channel you're not interested in, but you still get spammed every time someone mentions the team name in that channel.
This is horrible... I've had to join a colleague's class, just to see what he is teaching, but I find I'm invited to every live meeting, which I have to decline, one by one! The decline meeting series does not work, neither did channel notifications. Fix this now please. It should be a priority. A lot of these features have been asked for, since two or three years ago, but Microsoft ignored everything. Now it has to be looked into - please do it ASAP, instead of looking at how to beautify the system.

I don't understand how I can turn off every single notification yet still get @team mentions. Please please please fix this!

This is annoying me on a regular basis. I've joined several support teams so I can check for outages, but I don't want to be bothered when someone mentions the team I'm not a member of.

This should be a real priority. As a department we want other staff to be able to see what other course teachers are doing, but don't want the annoying notifications of a meeting starting in 5 minutes when you don't need to attend the meeting.
I'm in a team with hundreds of people, I don't want to get notified when someone @mentions the team. However I still need to get notifications for the smaller teams I actually work with.
This is absolutely critical and I'm really surprised this isn't already a feature. I need to belong to several teams, some of which generate copious @team mentions which are completely irrelevant to me and drown out my notifications that are actually important.
This is causing me to miss important notifications and is generally making Teams notifications merely a distracting nuisance.
PLEASE- Allow us to silence @team mentions on a per-team basis.
Voted it. Please have this feature to mute selected team, as it becomes somewhat annoying when people keep mentioning the team instead of General in the General Channel.
And you can't keep reminding them what to do.
It should be just like channel that you can turn mention notification off per team.

About to delete the app over this issue. I can't make a meeting because i have another meeting... but because of the chat notifications in this other meeting of 25 people, I can't focus on my more important meeting or find anyway to get out of it. The only solution is to disable notifications on the entire app... which is a waste.

I would like the option to specify the length of time to silence a channel (an hour, a day, forever).
