Block change picture
In Skype for Business we were able to prevent users from uploading pictures for their avatar. This was done from a PowerShell script that modified the OWA policy. We should have the same option with Teams. Hopefully in UI instead of PS.

We have begun rolling out the fix for Teams to honor the OWA Mailbox Policy setting configured by tenant admins to control whether users can change their profile picture.
Please se https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/MicrosoftTeams/exchange-teams-interact for details. If you don’t have it quite yet, sit tight as it can take time to roll out fully.
Thanks!

This is an issue for us. We really need to lock this down. Please, can we get any sort of feedback on this?

This is becoming a large problem for us too. As we currently have 12 academies and recently introduced Microsoft Teams to 2 of the sites however students have already figured out they can change the photo in teams.

We are having this same problem. We need to lock it down. With the increased phishing attempts this has become a very big security concern.

This really needs sorting out. There should be one common mechanism to control profile photographs. Our staff now know how to change the profile photos which is completely against company policy. This has been an open issue for ages and needs prioritisation.

Ok it is 2020. Where do we stand on getting this resolved? I have users who find it funny to upload images that are not HR friendly. I have also found a back door to anyone you has already set a policy to block user profile photos.
The following link needs to be removed.

It has been two year since Warren has posting any details. Are they paying you in peanuts?

Please correct this issue, it is a very serious issue for professional enterprises and educational organizations as noted many times in this thread for more than two years now.

This needs a solution as users in an enterprise can put any picture they want there

Microsoft support was unable to provide a solution to disable the ability to Change your profile picture in Microsoft Teams via our Tenant. The OWA policy set for the tenant should prevent users from editing their profile pictures.

Please get this added. We just ran across a user who had set theirs to an inappropriate picture. We need the ability to block this ability across our organization.

We also need this now, people started putting penguins and other "funny" things. It's only a matter of time when someone puts racist or adults pics. How is it possible in a corporate environment???
