This suggestion may also relate to this post: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/38209747-allow-channel-assignment-after-meeting-creation.
Connecting the two in case it helps push this important recommendation up! -

Need this as this is the only way to compare members Outlook calendar availability when planning a meeting or looking at month views of calendars. Also should be able to designate across channels within a Team.

very important and necessary, especially given this is the only way I can schedule Teams meetings, I do not have the meetings Tab in the Teams app itself to do it there. That is frustrating/annoying enough.

This functionality seems like a basic "Must Have",... not sure why this feature isn't already available!

Our organization is starting an evolution toward Teams from being VERY email (Outlook/Exchange) centric. The inability to assign a meeting to a Team and Channel is an impediment to adoption of Teams since most default to setting up meetings in Outlook.

We need this as well. Most work occurs within a particular Channel, and not just in the default General Channel.
It is an important feature that otherwise requires you to schedule in Outlook, then open and modify in Teams. Might as well not have the feature in Outlook in that case...

Outlook integration is important , as Channel meetings must be scheduled from within Team for now. That means Meeting notes function only works for Channel meetings scheduled from within Team

This is very important because scheduling is Outlook is a must for various reasons, but we cannot select a channel to host the meeting. Therefore these meeting default to show in Teams Chat, all of the conversations and files share during this meeting are now stored in Chat, not in the Team where they should be. Selecting the channel would allow all this content to stay in the relevant Team/Channel.
