Consumer Skype chat
I am currently an IT member of a business that uses Skype for Business for communications, even with outside the company. I realize guest access is coming in multiple ways soon but this is slightly different.
Currently some of our users get on Skype for Business to communicate with consumer Skype accounts. These are people that are outside of our business but have to be in communication with some people (IE: Hedges / Merchandisers). Are there any plans to bring this portion to Teams so that it will mirror Skype for Business?

I have a large customer where this is a critical business need (healthcare professionals communicating with patients on consumer Skype). It's a blocker.

Yes, please. Being able to communicate with all Skype users (including consumer edition) is a must for a holistic collaboration platform, especially with Skype being a Microsoft product.

we are missing important business functions for archive and litigation hold every time business users needs to step aside and use Skype for communication with clients/vendors that do not have Teams.
This will not happen if Skype will be supported -

Same question, more so in that some business users prefer to use consumer Skype for better experience and reliability. The poor quality of Skype for Business is putting people off. For Teams to replace SfB it needs to be able to chat with Skype consumer users also. Arguably they should all upgrade to Teams, but depends on the organisation. Also, chat with external users who don't use 365 at all, but do use Skype.
