Disabling "see more"
Need the option to disable "see more" when a message is long. We wont to post the complete message, without having to click on "see more"
Remove it so students can see the whole announcement
just get rid of it completly

Even just a setting to increase the number of visible lines to X? PLEASE!
PLEASE give us this option. My team keeps missing critical info because they scroll right over it!
Agreed with many of the others. Expand more option to be a default. Critical info is missed

How do we turn this hateful feature off? Critical information being posted to our chat rooms are being overlooked because it keeps hiding the text!
@JimmTuttle yeah, when I built this third party chrome extension, I purely wanted it to just expand the "See More" for each post. I would like for it to expand all "See More" messages in a thread, but unfortunately that is not possible for the Teams webapp as they are dynamically rendering the messages and un-rendering the messages as you scroll through (i.e. a virtual scroll list), so my chrome extension simply clicks on it to expand it AS you scroll thru the list.
For now I haven't had much time to continue working on it, but as of the posts here, I can see that what I could do next for the extension is:
1. put an option to allow disabling of the extension, maybe using a toggle switch or something
2. there is a known bug that prevents the user from editing a message while this extension is on, as it is continuously firing click events to the "see more" button of each post within the MS Teams Angular webapp. Will need to find a way to prevent this from happening. One hypothetical solution is to detect a user click on the current page and stop the operation of expanding the See More for a while until he/she begins scrolling again.
These are the two features that I would implement in the extension (see earlier posts for those who need the Chrome Extension link), when I have more time to work on it.

I totally agree, it is very easy to miss some information...

Agree - users often miss key information. Making it an option to disable would be ideal.
I agree with the general sentiment here. "See more":
- makes the user do more work
- does not significantly de-clutter the channel window
- creates unecessary structure within the channel window, complicating it
- prevents the user from just scrolling up to see past messages; user has to interact with every message individually
It seems like Teams' channel view works more like an email message list, showing a summary of each message, than like a chat app. However, we already have email. I would like chat. Slack's flat list of messages is much more pleasing.
PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, for the love of all primary school teachers. Take aware the "see more" feature.

Please make this available. It is very annoying. Students miss information because they don't know that "see more" button exists.

This is why we use alternative programs for group chats at work instead of Teams.
Completely unusable feature in Teams since you have to separately click to see all posts and then 'See more' in every single post.

Now, as a teacher, many of my students are on digital platforms for the first time, and no matter how we try and teach and alert it to them, they are missing the "See more" button, which is quite necessary. It is creating a lot of confusion for my students, many are missing important content, and am looking for the option to remove it entirely. "See more" itself is not clearly visible and can pose further issues for those on smaller devices.

Please add an option to deactivate it.

@Joshua, that's pretty cool! I also like that the extension limits its "scope" to the Teams website. Nothing worse than installing a plugin that wants to "read and write data on all sites you visit".
Any chance it could do the same trick to show ALL the replies to a post? Currently, Teams seems to show just one reply (the last one?), and you need to click a link with a name like "2 replies from Bill and Ted" to see all the replies.
I've created an extension for Microsoft Teams Web (https://teams.microsoft.com) that solves this problem.
Its called "Auto See More for Microsoft Teams" and can be downloaded/installed here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/hkhcgcfccnnemjbgcnjlbnbghaakpmla
More than that, the code is fully open-sourced, and can be found here - https://github.com/joshuaquek/msteamsweb-autoseemore-chrome-extension
Let me know if it works, and also feel free to leave a star on Github if you find it useful.

I agree with Kyle, I would as a user, I would like to be able to see the full text or at minimum, make the "See More" stand out more. I find that most of my users miss the "see more" button.
"see more" should be avoided when posting an announcement - the point of the announcement is so folks can read the full text.
See More adds more work, it does not reduce it. It adds confusion to what you're scanning, it does not aid comprehension. It is a horrible idea/implemented badly and needs to be an option to turn off, immediately. The more we use teams the more we hate it when we keep clicking and not keeping dialogue scannable.
