Notifications for teams
I'm not receiving any notifications from teams.
Each time I select anything in notification settings the selected setting disappears...
Please add to the comments if you are experiencing this. I would like to know the OS and device you are using as well.
I’ll bring this feedback to the feature team and help get this investigated.
- One plus 3t, Android 8.0.0, Oxygen OS 5.0.5
- Iphone 5s iOS 12 beta 12
- Galaxy Note5 Android version 7
- Nokia 7 plus 8.1 Android
- Samsung J7 Android version 7
All have the same issue, conversations not reliable even on simple group chat.
Windows 10 Pro, also happens. Teams do not emit notification, however, conversations do.
Can we get notifications when there are messages in the Teams we follow?
Microsoft Teams Version 1.1.00.19257 (64-bit).
Windows 10 Pro Version 1607
Windows PC, windows 10. Notifications need to be more like Skype.
I don't want the banner, but I still want to be notified when I receive a message.
The Teams icon should light up. I don't even get a notification when someone send a message in a teams chat. I have to favorite the team chat to get a notification or someone has to mention me. Notifications is the biggest issue everyone at my company has a problem with, and these should've made from the very beginning.
I am on and iPhone 7 plus with the latest iOS. I have noticed when the teams app is swiped and close I will not see new notifications or the little number next to the app icon. Its not until I click on the app to open it and then will get all the notifications. I am also a gov cloud teams user so not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Our company is running Teams on Windows 7. We switched from slack, where notifications were automatic. We lost a few days of productivity missing messages from each other.
The notifications process is unclear, we figured out you have to "favorite" a channel, then click into the channel, then click the "..." menu, then "follow" the channel you want to receive notifications on. Then double check that you have notifications on for Teams under your profile settings.
You have to do this for every channel you want to receive notifications for.
This hurts our users. Super painful. Why does it take four byzantine steps for Teams to accomplish something Slack does automatically? And what our team considers a core function for usability?
Please, please fix. Please.

On my smartphone, Android 8, I selected to get always notifications.
But I only receive sometimes notifications, most of time none.
I use IE 7 on my computer and laptop and although I do seem to be getting my teams notifications at the moment this is usually intermittent so can't be relied upon. My colleague uses IE 10 and it's the same for her.
My notifications are often delayed, and/or only comes on when I launch the app on my mobile devices. It is never timely.
I use a macbook and an iphone and have checked all my settings.
not receiving notifications (on mobile phone) in certain group/channel.
I am following that channel and I have setting which allows to push notification both of phone and laptop.
I even tried with shut down laptop and still notifications are not visible on phone.
Only way to get notification on phone is to use "@" which should not be required.

We are not receiving any notifications on our Pixel 2XL phones. We have double checked all our settings. We do get a notification occasionally when the app is open and active on our screen. But once we move to another app, we stop receiving notifications.

I have notifications checked “on”, but I am not getting them. I used to get a “1” showing up on the app icon when something was new, even if more than one chat was listed. Now I don’t get that. I have to go in and check if anything has been added to a group chat.

Notifications will only show up on my "primary monitor", and the lack of auto-scrolling and any differentiation between normal chat updates and direct messages/important/priority updates to channels/chats I'm involved in makes Teams completely worthless as a means of keeping in touch.

I have to second this requirement. I've pushed Teams across my organization of over 250 employees, and almost *everyone* (>90%) of them are reporting that mobile notifications simply don't work. This is unacceptably flawed - how can MS develop an IM app, and not have notifications work?
Some users on my team are experiencing the same issue. I get consistent notification banners but my colleague does not. His settings are all set correctly.

I'm seeing issues where a notification comes in, but then doesn't appear in the activity tab or in the Teams client for some time. Yesterday it was 3-5 minutes from when I got the notification on my phone and on the desktop till it was actually visible in Teams client. This leads to me ignoring notifications because I can't see what it's about when it comes in.

My team is finding that popup notifications are randomly (seemingly) displayed to us. One day I will get them, another I won't, some team members never see them. We have coordinated and made sure we all have the same notification settings (Banner or Banner & Email) and are following the same channels. We are all using Windows 10. Without reliable notifications, Microsoft Teams is proving to be less effective than hoped.
