Alerts in guest tenants
When you've been given access to a team as a guest there is currently no way to be alerted. All the little red notification only appear when you visit the guest team's tenant within Microsoft Teams. A notification on the account in "Your Accounts" would probably work.

+1 - Using Mac app, and we have missed notifications from a client on multiple occasions.
This is preventing us from fully adopting Teams across our organization.

We have a external Corporation that’d we’d like to communicate with via teams chat. This corp uses 365 as well. By adding their 365 emails to a team, it allowed group chats, however they don’t receive app or desktop notifications unless they manually check the external team they were added to. We need this notification error fixed ASAP so that we can strengthen our communication system with our referral partners. Thank you!

Agree this is a huge problem as a technology IS with multiple customers. We continually find our DevOps teams are using Slack instead or our corporate tools for this reason. The agile way teams work they may have 2-3 customer accounts at any time and the constant need to change persona or miss chats is very frustrating
+1, windows app, I been logged in my tenant, our partner want to chat to me via his tenant, i have been notified about 1 hour later - via email .... instant messaging in practice ...
Notifications of messages sent to my guest organizations is not immediate. The notification time could be improved
+1 from me. i have same problem... :(
i've been invited from a customer in their team.
In the app, near my account icon, i can choose the tenants.
The problem is that if user in a nother tenant send me a message chat, while i'm logged in my tenat, i don't see the chat notification.
I can see the chat only if i switch to their tenat.
pls allow any kind of notifaction from other tenants
Receive banner notifications from guest tenants.
Mention notifications from guest tenants are not received in banner on iPhone.
We have a problem that we cannot grasp communication between companies quickly.
When I am part of a guest account, the notifications are always unreliable. It will show new notification when there is nothing new and it won't show notification for multiple hours when there are new messages.
This has never been an issue on Slack, but this crucial aspect is completely broken on Microsoft Teams, making it inadvisable to use Guest access. we have to tell users: Check both teams all the time. because you won`t get notifications, which goes against the whole point of having a good communication tool.

Implementation of a function that enables notification of external tenants who participate as guest users.
This is a huge problem, our clients are invited as guest. But they need to change profile to see notifications. While they are in our profile the do not get the notifications for their company profile.
This is bad, very bad. We cannot work like this, it would be faster to fax a message to them instead.
Now we need to mail them every time: See message in teams"
So put lite more Team in Teams, that would be great.
The problem is that this client used Skype before but since their company is small Microsoft turned it off. We however are a big company and we have still Skype for business. We can send messages but no images or attached files. What were you guys thinking?
You cannot replace a perfect working piece of software to something that does not work.
Our solution? We installed the regular skype and we both got a account.
So now I have Skype, Skype for business and Teams... Great job guys!

Having to change tenants to use the features of Teams is the primary reason we have been slow to deploy to our clients. They are not going to think to switch to our tenant to check to see if there is anything worth looking at -- they need to be proactively notified to look (and the little number above the tenant switch is not it). They need to get a banner that says a message has come in, or an @mention is there -- or there is other activity in a channel they are following. Without this, the collaboration promise falls way short.

I don't understand how this isn't even remotely done. I can't get notified at all when I'm a guest in someone elses tenant. This is the world of a single identity, not multiple identities.

I dont understand how Slack can handle this so well and we are multiple years into Teams and guest access as a whole is terrible and useless.

If you are logged into your main corporate profile you have to switch profiles to read messages from your guest profile. If you could add notifications without switching profile, that will be awesome! Please
In addition to getting alerts, it would be nice not having to switch between tenants.

I have same problem. If we can not be aware of all the notification across all the joined tenant including as a guest, we must miss the necessary action for our work.
There are some basics for effective communication and collaboration. This is one of them. I'm really surprised this and some other lacking features are not prioritised as it's things essential to what the tool is meant to be!
My company has several tenants, which makes it a nightmare with my colleagues without this feature.
It's quite simple - I cannot rely on Teams as communication tool. I miss things, other people miss my posts/messages - it forces me to email and other channels (including Slack btw)

As this seems to take forever: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/17750851-i-want-to-use-multiple-teams-accounts-at-the-same
Pooled notifications is maybe quicker and easier to solve?
