email team directly
It would be good if we could create an email to the entire Team, directly from the root team's context menu.
rather than having to go back to Outlook, find the group definition an create an email from there.

This feature is not available at this time. You can get the email address for the team which allows you to email the Teams app. But this is completely different than emailing every member of a team from within the Teams app.
Many of our users don't have their notifications turned on or only partially turned on, so being able to email members of a team to let them know something important was posted, seems like a no-brainer.
But then, this is Microsoft we're talking about...

Where? Ellipsis? Thread? So I expect to find it by looking at the team members and being able to select the memebers (or all) I want to mail (like in Google Classroom which is intuitive unlike this).

This feature is there. Click on the ellipsis beside a thread's name and find the option to get the email address.
