For the love of God, why does Ctrl-F not let you search the existing channel????
Notepad has better search features.

Please allow search within a specific channel. When someone references a previous statement within the conversation, make it easy to find. It is not easy to find with the current search box.

Please add per-channel search function. Cross-sectional searches that are already available are also useful, but sometimes we want to search within a particular channel.

The current search function through the command bar feels cumbersome. A channel-specific search bar would be more efficient.
At least being able to set up a default search location as the last viewed channel would help immensely.
See below comments - and please get back regarding if you are currently working on this topic. We also need to be able to search in all the content eg in sides and sections too.
Search within a chat

This is crucial because searching everything is near-useless when the search term is common. Imagine searching all of Teams (I am already in 40 or so) for the word "meeting" or the word "address". Searching within a particular channel or user chat history would let me see only what is relevant.

I'd like a smart CTRL-F implementation that filters your search query to solely be within the scope of what you are currently viewing.
- If you are chatting with a person, show search results from just that person
- If you are chatting with a team, show search results from within that team
I noticed you already have a little filter icon for the user to specify such scope, so hopefully it'd be a simple matter of detecting which person/team the user is presently on, and then automatically populating the relevant filter-fields that you have.

I am also experiencing this. The "WE HAVE THIS" solution is not (or is no longer) accurate.
I'm in an enterprise that sees wide use of Teams. An all-channel search is nearly useless, as it returns far too many results, especially for common words.
We need per-channel search pronto.
Enable search to search below team names into channels and actual chats!
@skprufo Teams doesn't have this!
Please, read the requests more carefully before marking them as done.
It looks in all channel.
This is important to be able to limit to a particular Channel in the filter vs just the Team.

Ctrl-F should work like in a browser, so you get an additional search-field without leaving the window. But at least Ctrl-F shoul work anyway, thats right
related / similar to https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/32431529-searching Basically we want to be able to search in a given context and not globally as we already know the context, right?

The tab that says "In this channel" no longer appears to be present in the current version of Teams.
Would love this!!! Please add. Searching through One Note or general File Library requires me to move away from Teams and into the individual apps.
This would be nice on the mobile app as well. There is the search functionality on the overall team, but not in individual channels.
It would be nice if this were also available in the app. There is a search at the main window, but not in individual channels

The tab that says "In this channel" no longer appears to be present in the current version of Teams. Annoyingly this forces you to have to manually find and select the team then channel in the filter panel drop-downs to do this now.
