Ctrl+F to search within a specific chat or channel
Wait you're advertising Teams on TV and you can't even Ctrl F, laughable.
Looking forward to "Microsoft Teams: Contextual Search" due for release CY2020 (see https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=64017)
I hope it includes the option to view the entire thread for each search result as part of the wider "context" (see https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/19594636-search-results-should-show-the-full-thread and https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103/suggestions/30971131)
I could not wait - something so easy, daily needed, is missing - hope for not a long time :).
Almost every day I want this feature
It would be amazing if you could get this to work. It is hard to find sepecific key words in a chat / channel.

How is this 2 years in development? Please push this forward in your sprints, very useful tool everyone would use.
This is now a three years old request and it hasn't been done. Not even a part of it.
The "working on it" tag looks more like a "Not gonna happen" tag...
Unbelievable for a tool marketed for companies...
This would be so useful. Currently using the Search tool, no matter which chat you are in, searches the entirety of teams - even returning results from before your own account was live and messages from user accounts that no longer exists. That in itself is useful, but if you know it was in a certain chat, there is no way to filter the extra unnecessary items out.
I think some people on this enhancement request aren't aware that you can currently search in a single chat or channel using the search bar at the top.
Search results appear on the left, and include chats with single people and channel discussions.

This seems like a no-brainer, please deliver it ASAP!!!
However, in the meantime, From: To: and In: pretty much set you up to be able to search any conversation
Do it, please.
Please do it
Working in Teams feels like going back to the stone-age with the lack of a proper search function.

Would be great to make chat search easily usable/discoverable. Also I'd like to be able to search or filter for 'events' such as "XXXX added YYYY to the meeting" - this doesn't appear if I search for "added in:[channel]"

How was this not default functionality? How has this not been added yet?

Search using "In:Channel or group chat name" exists but it is really uncomfortable to type in a group name every time.
What user wants is to click "Command+F" or "Command+E" (who invented E for Find? is it sEarch?) and to have "In:CurrentChannelOrGroupName" already typed in.
Can we have this?
It's great, you have allowed for every chat to be stored, but what's the use of having a historical data if there isn't a way to search for items immediately? it's pointless. Please create the search function in chats, channel conversation and files immediately. Thanks
Control + F would be helpful while searching in long chats or team channel. When will this functionality be available?
I really don't want to search every chat I've ever had.....that's too many.

Fail to understand that such a basic and important feature is missing. Such a shame!

Any way to find or search for things is not intuitive at all. How in 2020 Ctrl + F does not work and not a standard feature boggles my mind! I can't even use the workaround of selecting my entire chat conversation to paste into Word to CTRL + F.
