Search Functionality is not working as expected
Search functionality is not working. I was trying to find a conversation related to a word "FNTS" in one of our channel and the search yielded no result. We manually could scroll and find references to it, but the search showed zero results. This prompted us to probe more and we searched using a few more words and at times it gave some results but not all. This seems to be really buggy.. Is this something that you are trying to fix? I have championed the move from SLACK to TEAMS and am getting a lot of grief from some folks who really depend on tools like this. It will be nice if you could respond to this, and let us know if this is getting fixed.
Agreed - this is a disaster from an organizational standpoint.
I have just wasted several hours looking for a Teams posting and document that I knew existed but could not get the search bar to return it. After many attempts and getting ZERO results, I finally started getting a couple - but they were different each time I searched.
If our organization cannot rely on the search function, how do we effectively use Teams? We cannot ask our users to scroll back through hundreds/thousands of postings...
THIS IS A MAJOR FUNCTIONALITY ISSUE that clearly dates back to at least 2017.
Inexplicable that it has not been addressed.
Never had this problem with Google or Slack...

It's not even working for simple single word searches inside chats.
The search features in Teams is abysmal. If you don't know the first few letters of the search item, it finds nothing.
Wildcards do nothing.
Partial string search does nothing.
How was this VITAL feature overlooked?
Search was working up until some point around 17 May. Now no files show in MS Teams search. All that shows up is 'allitems.aspx'.
Search does seem to be working for chat messages.
Everything was working fine last week, but suddenly we getting no search resutls for files in teams.

I am getting no search results for files suddenly. I can't find files in desktop or web app. Simply no results. This started happening recently, maybe the past few months.

Why am I getting 0 results and no error message for searches that should provide results? This is incredibly frustrating.
It is impossible to find a publication by mentioning the term and the collaborator; you also have to filter the team. With more than 80 teams, this is complicated. Please fix this quickly!

This is a terrible problem, greatly reduces usefulness of Teams :(
i search for phrase 'black smoothies' a result came up but search wont let me know the context.
please i need to know
Searching in general is something that should be improved in Teams. Not only searching for words within chats or channel but also searching for documents and even folders that are not available and should be, as it would help if you didn't have to browse to a channel to locate a sharepoint folder associated with the channel.
So frustrating! Not at all helpful to find the word and not be able to access context/messages before and after. Why even bother having a search?
I just spent 20 minutes trying to find a message containing the word "impact". Teams found plenty of results, just not the one I wanted. Searching for other words in the same message was hit and miss. Depending on the word searched for, sometimes it found that message, sometimes it didn't. Perhaps the worst of all worlds!
I've never relied on Teams' search. It's easily verifiable that the results are horribly incomplete. It would be really nice if it would be, though. Scrolling through endless messages in multiple channels to find a reference to something is a royal pain and an enormous waste of time.
It was working just fine for me this morning, now everything I search for "no results"
Search works for me but shows only the message, not the context of the conversation, which is useless. Fix this, Microsoft!

HELP WITH THIS !
Notice... crickets.... MS making boat loads of money on half-baked products.
This is the problem with auto-updated **** - it takes stuff that WAS working and makes it to where it doesn't work anymore - and you have no choice but to accept it. Where's the regression testing over at MS?
