(BTW, this seems like a duplicate of this other request - suggest you merge votes https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/18979909-meeting-reminders)
I don't constantly have Outook and Teams open but this makes me miss meeting prompts (mainly due to the CPU & RAM it uses up on my Surface Pro 4).
Can we not use Edge or native Windows functionality to do a toast reminder whether the apps are open or not? .
If not, I'd be happy to keep Teams open all the time as my single collaboration hub but need meeting reminder prompts. -

I think this is functionality that should've been implemented ages ago.

I just cant understand why this is not done yet... if you invite you wont get notified, but if you cancel a meeting, you get notified... weird!

I still think there's an issue with notifications here:-
- If someone sends me a message it pops up on my screen, I see it and I respond
- If a meeting is started in a channel I get no pop-up - the team has to be visible to notice. All you need is a pop-up like "meeting started in Team ***. Click [here] to join".
(I've got all notifications switched on for that team so I'm sure this doesn't exist)

This has been a known issue for over three years. Why has it not been addressed? I and many users do not live in their email inbox. I turn it off to help me focus but I'm learning to rely on the MS Teams to communicate with my team. If I'm invited to a meeting I expect a prompt within MS Teams that I have a meeting to accept and then when it comes time for that meeting I expect a prompt within MS Teams reminding me I have a meeting. This should be core functionality for this type of program, but instead it is missing.

For scheduled Meetings, like a daily group meet-up, the scheduled meeting needs to show up in the relevant channel and also as a pop up, with a 'join' button.
We've just moved our practice on to Teams from having no work-from-home experience and the process of getting people to join a schedule meeting is not intuitive at all. What happens is that around the meeting time, say 9am, some users create they're own ad hoc meetings, so it's a job getting people to leave and re-join the correct scheduled meeting.
Our users don't seem to check their calendars to go into the meetings, they are in the Teams chat channels by default.
It would be good to have the Join Meeting box in the channel to open up in the Chat, say a few minute before, or even give the option to make the Join Meeting box user definable.

I totally miss the functionality that was available in Skype for business. The option to configure a popup notification when a meeting started. Would be great if that option could be made available for Teams!

Completely agree. It was quite confusing when testing the feature that my attendees did not receive an email notification.
I understand the direction is to to move away from email internally in the O365 paradigm but then at least provide an option when creating the meeting, much like Google, that allows you to decide to send an email to all selected attendees.
Options Microsoft. Options.

I have a customer who's people are constante on the road. Is there a way to notify them instead of a calendar reminder for the Teams app installed on the smartphone? We need a push notification..

Totally need a way to be notified that a meeting has been scheduled than to just look at the calendar. We have noticed, however, that if you are able to enter each attendee, then they do get an email notifying them that there is a meeting scheduled. This isn't good enough though - you need some notifications that there is a meeting when it's happening.

Skype for business had a persistent popup when a meeting started. In teams, sometimes I get notifications when someone starts a meeting and sometimes I don't. It needs to be more consistent or just work like Skype did.

If a meeting is scheduled on a reoccurring basis, say everyday at 10am, then it would be good if an automated message with a join link/button pops up at the required time in the Team Chat.

Currently migrating from Webex to Teams brings this to my attention. Webex has a banner that pops up 5 minutes prior to meeting starting and stays on your screen until 5 minutes after the meeting has started. I find this very helpful to make sure that I am on time to meetings especially when they are scheduled back to back, or I am in the middle of doing work and not paying attention to the time.

Ideally a Persistent notification bar at the top of Teams to jump straight into a meeting rather than finding it in the Calendar.

Agree with the comments from all the colleagues here. Some sort of really obvious popup with a 15 minute reminder and the ability to snooze. Basic usability request. Thanks!

I would like the "Meeting started notification" to have the option of a Banner with an adjustable sound and the ability to select how long the banner stays on your screen.
