Mute a channel - (Mute Chat is complete)
I'd love to keep groups/channels in my list, but mute a channel so I don't get those. I get notified whenever some tags a channel eg @General, it's super distracting!
Also would like the possibility to mute a group chat, so no sound or mobile notification should be received for a user that chooses to mute some group chat.
Muting both a channel and a chat are now available to the public.
When you mute a channel, you will continue to get notifications for the following:
- @Team mentions in that channel
- Replies and reactions to conversations which you have taken part in that channel
- @Channel mention of other channels in that muted channel
What you will stop receiving notifications for are:
- All new posts in that channel
- Replies to those posts in that channel
- @Channel mentions of that channel
To mute a particular channel,
- Go to the channel overflow menu (triple dot) and choose “Channel notifications”
- Select “Off” for all the menu options you see in that “Channel notifications” dialog box
Channel mention mute has been added but please add TEAMS MENTION MUTE. Some of my teams are more active than others and I don't want to see them in the Feed.
The notification setting for Teams Mention does not allow users to specify which team to mute.

Maybe I'm missing something but isn't this already possible? Click the triple dot for thqt channel>Notifications and set them to off?
I honestly can't believe this feature isn't already in Teams. Please add this feature so I can quiet teams that over-notify.
I'd like to bump this up for higher consideration. I hope this is still being worked on (it has been more than a year since the response 😉). In my personal (and colleagues') experience it's a very common scenario for someone to have one or two high-volume channels that create noise in their notifications and feed. Please let us selectively mute these!
I don’t know why this isn’t done already. Our company moved from Slack to Teams and the inability to mute notifications from specific channels has been driving me crazy.

I would love to be able to temporary mute a conversation or channel (for 1 hour, 8 hour, etc). Usefull in meeting or when needed to focus on some work without being interrupted but that I know that I will need to read the missing messages later.
Muting a whole team would be great too!!!
Where are we with this Microsoft? come on!
The last update was a year ago... is this still being worked on?
I'm being forced to leave different teams because being part of them is super distracting due to use of @ mentions. I'd love to be part of those teams and get the information I need, but it can't come at the cost of hourly mentions disrupting my workflow.
Would love it if I can mute individual channels!
Any update on muting a channel?

Please address this. It would make my user experience so much better and my work providing support for multiple teams on a rotating basis easier to manage.
Been working on it since Aug 7 2018, any news yet?
Is there an update on this
If people send a few hundred mass emails per day talking about the weather, I have a feeling the recipients would like the opportunity to filter them while still receiving emails that are pertinent. Users being able to configure notifications/alerts in the tools they use is pretty standard, but we don't currently have the granularity we'd like with Teams.
9 months after being told the team are "hard at work", we would still really like this feature
We also need push notifications to be properly debounced - see https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/37498339-debounce-push-notifications
It would really be helpful if this could be resolved since I'm part of several teams where a lot is going on but I'm only involved in one or two channels. Now I get notifications for all channels even the ones I'm not following.
Any news on this? Some teams I need to be a member of, but don't need the constant notifications; I'm happy to catch up on my own schedule.
Lets go guys. Get this one done - its crippling to get bombarded with notifications for team chat threads you are no longer interested in.
