remove conversation tab
I would like the option to remove or hide the conversations tab. Teams is a great way to post and link to team related spreadsheets or slideshows and doesn't require a chat function. Keeping one sometimes means there are chat posts that are missed because they are not expected.

Removing the Conversation Tab is being reviewed by the feature team.
For deleting chat messages, please following progress here: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103/suggestions/33535006.
Thanks.

Teams needs a lot of improvements. You guys don't realize that too much information is overwhelming.
When I click on a team, I want to see the folder structure right away, I don't want to see a conversation tab.
In general, you need to have less clicks involved to get to a particular folder.

I would settle for just being able to MOVE the CONVERSATIONS tab out of first place.

Agree - Please provide the option to remove the Conversation Tab or set a default tab

Agree with everyone else, the tabs need to be configurable. Not being able to configure what is displayed by default for Teams means that EVERY organisation that uses Teams is being forced down the same route not just for collaboration, but also internal communications, as it effectively minimizes top-down comms.

Wow, MSFT is very responsive! NOT! I have the same complaint! Just want to re-order that tabs..."should" be easy...I don't care anything about the conversations...it's just distracting.

And please make it possible to change files with conversation. Many of our team members are confused when first time working with teams because they cannot find the files

Also we need a way to default a tab as the one that is shown when opening a Channel!

Please give us the abilty to remove this tab! it is useless and counter-productive in many instances!

Agree, the minimum is to re-order. Please Microsoft work on this as a priority as TEAMS is great for managing projects but the first tab being "conversations" looks unprofessional and is confusing to some users who do not know to go to "file" to see content.

Agree. Not every team needs to be commented on, but if you give people the ability to comment on it they will. More importantly, even if we did need a comments section that hardly needs to be the first thing people see. Sometimes I want them to see the files. If the file tab is there first, they see the files, and they can access them. IF they have a question, THEN they can go look for the conversation tab to see if someone has more info.
People get distracted easily, conversations pull attention away from everything else we are trying to do. It adds time to every process because now people are curious and want to read. Then eventually they realize most conversations are of little to no value, they stop reading them, and they start asking people direct questions via email again.
You can't build the greatest communications platform by telling people how your platform is going to work, because your competitors don't seem to have that limitation. I try to tell clients how flexible teams is, and the first thing they see is that they can't change whatever they want in a team. It practically un-sells itself.

I agree as well. Having conversations in every single channel is overkill in about 90% of the projects I work on. There should be a way to hide this at the channel level at least.

Agreed. We have five Channels in our department Team and each one has this Conversations tab. Worse... people have tested a little and now those test comments are the first thing you see every time you click on the Channel.

Oh dear... Please Microsoft, at least comment on this idea. We HAVE to be able to disable/hide the conversation tab. Yes, we can enable a setting to allow owners to be the only ones who could use that chat. Sadly, this setting works only for the 'General' channel, not for custom channels, which is very stupid.

The forced Conversations, Files, and Notes tabs are distracting and many students struggle with 'all' of the different places to post questions/comments. Please allow owner/teacher to disable tabs as appropriate for his/her class!

Please at least let us set a default tab in TEAMS for edu. My students need to start at the assignments page.

100% agreed, please implement ASAP - this will make it the perfect wrapper for a team site.

Totally agree! Please unlock the tabs at least.

Some channels really do not need a conversations or files tab. For instance a channel which is strictly for a calendar doesn't need any other tabs. Being able to click the Calendar channel and see the calendar without having to click on a tab would just be sooooo much easier.
