remove conversation tab
I would like the option to remove or hide the conversations tab. Teams is a great way to post and link to team related spreadsheets or slideshows and doesn't require a chat function. Keeping one sometimes means there are chat posts that are missed because they are not expected.

Removing the Conversation Tab is being reviewed by the feature team.
For deleting chat messages, please following progress here: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103/suggestions/33535006.
Thanks.

Yes, I would like the option to move the Files and Conversations tabs. Ideally, I would also like to be able to hide these tabs from view

Skype for Business lets you delete your conversations. Deleting conversations keeps my screen clean and avoids any misunderstanding by seeing old messages, etc. Come on Microsoft... This would have seemed like a no-brainer before pushing this new product. You own Skype... it works in Skype. Make it work in Teams. I'm voting to get this done.

Having the Conversation and Files tab as a default that cannot be removed or even reordered constricts our ability to customize the App and use it as needed. This is crazy - who made this rule??????

With anything other than mature learners, the conversations tab just provides a way to waste time and effort in the classroom and outside by unmotivated learners.
Until it is removable or capable of being hidden, Teams is just a non-starter as an educational tool.

I really want the ability to delete conversations with users that have left the company.

Yes please develop the option to shuffle tabs to suit needs and ability to show or hide the Conversations tab in Teams. It is not always needed and can be a turn off for some people. Interesting to see people are moving away. What are you using instead?

I don't find the way how to hide, delete or move this conversations TAB so I don't use teams any more. This make me more frustrated to have this as default Tab of any channel. So I can't customize my team as I need!, simply I forget it and don't use-it!
Thx

We have abandoned Teams for now in the hope that we can remove the 'Conversations' tab from additional channels. Such a shame.

a lot of businesses are moving away from Teams as well as schools.
Why would you have conversation as a first tab of a channel. Channel if for sharing information in the first place. Not discussing it. Hard locking anything in a system is not user-friendly. -

Why is this still a thing after so long? Are Microsoft not listening? A lot of schools are moving away from Teams for Education because it has completely inappropriate functions such as the immovable 'Conversatoins' tab

I agree! There is too long list of conversations already now and I have used Teams only couple of weeks.

Recently added a Notes tab, and the "Tab Conversation has Begun" (not being used) is making the UI unusable for Notes - it takes up 1/3rd of the display, with notes in the other 1/3rd and the left menu in the other 1/3rd (unfortunately, I'll have to remove the Notes tab as it's not usable--unless someone can provide a way to hide/disable this "feature"). I also would like the ability to remove/hide the Conversation tab and/or rearrange. I saw prior notes regarding this from 2017, with a note (guessing from a MS person) that this 'issue' was being worked on? Any idea of when???
Also, what about the ability to resize the windows?

can someone urgently help remove the conversation has begun tab from teams. -

Agreed. I want to move the Files tab to the first position and the conversations tab to the second position and can't figure out how. This causes a lot of confusion with my team.

Here is another vote to add this feature. We actually want to start on the Wiki page as this is more intuitive for the user but starting on conversation and having to click over every time is an pain and not needed. Let us design the space how OUR TEAM works, not how you want them to.

We are evaluating Teams. Conversations with a person keep growing. You can not clear them, you can not delete them. Does not make sense. We will have to find a different solution.
