Copy & Paste is tempermental
Users reporting multiple copy/paste issues for text:
Can't paste multi-messages. Often, only the first line pastes, the rest disappear. As one user puts it: "On the Windows 10 desktop client it is nearly impossible to copy multiple messages from the chat history. A fraction of a second after letting go of the mouse, the highlight collapses down to a single message."
Can't paste in general: "Copy & Paste is tempermental, when i try to paste text in from other sources it simply doesn't paste, but then if I only copy a few (3-6) words then it does. It means I can't do something as simple as pasting in a paragraph from an email, which I can definitely do in Skype for Business."
Can't copy/paste from Skype for Business.
When using an alternate theme like dark theme, copying messages out of Teams brings its background with it, meaning if you paste it somewhere else it has that dark gray background.
When copying something into teams, it preserves its original font color on top of the dark background, causing problems with visibility. If you are going to allow palette swapping themes, please add appropriate measures for text copied out of or into the app.
Feature request is still being worked upon.

I am in the middle of migrating companies and have countless skype chats/meetings daily! This is the most ridiculous unbelievable thing - how can Microsoft not allow or figure out how to copy from skype and paste into onenote, excel, word, notepad, etc.. Users are forced to spend un-godly amounts of money for products that just plain don't work on the simplest of tasks. As mentioned - basic functionality that is essential to have no matter sales, tech, hr, etc.. Seriously over Microsoft products not working day-in-out!
I need to be able to copy a full swath of a conversation (attachments, pictures and all) from one conversation to another, or to a document.
I can do only one reply at a time. This is inacceptable.

Maybe I missed it, but I don't see anything about copying or "S4B" in the convergence summary link that was shared by Warren yesterday. Is that "Teams-SfB 1:1 Chat Interop"? If so, that's in the "available today" column.

I did a little more testing on Copying images from desktop teams. I see failures when trying to copy images from a chat with one person on both Mac and Windows. I have successful copies from some Chats and some Channel conversations, including images that were added by the person where I have failures. The failed-to-copy images copy correctly from online Teams.

Copy Image from a chat conversation doesn't work in Teams Desktop on either Windows or Mac (latest versions as of 02/22/2018). If you right click for the context menu, it shows a "Copy Image" button. If you click the button, it seems like something is added to the clipboard, but it's not a well-formed image as I can't paste it into Teams, Word, OneNote, Evernote, etc.
Copy Image works fine in the Online Version of Teams (I only tested under Chrome on the Mac)

There is one way to copy multiple messages in Teams that OFTEN works.
1 Select multiple messages with left mouse button.
2 While still holding left mouse button down, click right button
3 The messages at this point should be still selected and the context menu should appear. If it didn't happen, start again from p.1.
4. While still holding left mouse button down, click Copy from the context menu with the Right mouse button.
This is why I hate using the Teams messaging instead of Skype.
In skype you can copy portions of your conversation with a click and drag across your messages and the responses from other participants in the chat and the timestamps copy as well. In Teams....you have to copy message by message OR you have to CNTRL + A/ +C and copy everything from the beginning of time.
Get it together, microsoft.
YOUR COPY PASTE FUNCTION SUCKS
When pasting, the default behavior should be to paste as PLAIN text, not styled text, in my opinion. I've watched several other people use their computer and they suffer difficulties using copy and paste, because 90% of the time, they simply want to copy and paste some text, but the styling/formatting messes them up, and they end up with broken or mismatching text styles in Teams, MS Word, and OneNote, or they end up clicking a lot of things to repair the styling. Please make the default behavior to paste as PLAIN text -- it would help a lot of people. However, copy and paste with styled/formatted text is also a necessary feature, so I suggest adding both styled and plain-text copy and paste commands to context menus.
For #4, I began experiencing this issue this morning, copying text into teams and receiving white text highlighted in white, but found that if I right click and select copy rather than using ctrl+c, it stops doing that. I can then still use ctrl+v to paste unaffected. Very strange.
Can you please make sure you get to this some time soon? I really hinders adoption as it's one of the first few things a user does and it fails so badly.
PLEASE FIX THIS.
This is basic functionality that is essential to have in Sales when discussing technical aspects of an order with my engineers. Please fix this!
I get the facebook url of the page and person I'm messaging self pasting writing a message and it's very annoying. Idk why it does it and no links on searches over it. makes me think it's a virus.

This feature would be highly useful as we frequently use our chats for postmortem reviews. We like to be able to pull text out of chats to review with management and improve our processes. Cutting and pasting line by line for hundreds of lines is just not efficient. Thanks.
I can rarely (if ever, as I recall) copy from or paste into Teams. Very frustrating. I'm on a MacOS Sierra 10.12.6.
If there were other ways to get conversations out, then I wouldn't need to copy out of Teams. For example, there are other feedback topics and conversations automatically syncing to "Conversation History" in Outlook. That would be great! Or maybe a "Save" option. I want a way to get specific conversations out, to save them into my non-Microsoft project system, similar to how I could "Save as Email" and attach into TFS Projects at my old company that had more Microsoft products.
And then, when conversations are out, I want them gone from Teams, not endless history of junk that makes the search experience worse the more gets piled in there.
I'm still experiencing this problem. I used to be able to ctrl+c with my finger still on the mouse button but not even that is working now

Would this be separate from image copy/paste? I have not experienced the text copy/paste issue -- I paste URLs on a near-daily basis without problems. However, image copy/paste intermittently fails on me. I can often paste without issue to share screenshots and other images, but sometime nothing will happen and I must save the image locally and attach it to my message manually. When it does fail, I am able to paste the image to other applications like Word and Powerpoint, but Teams just won't pick it up.
If this issue should be in separate ticket, I'd understand that.

Any update on this? It's really, really bad. Is there a chance this is being missed because there are so many other threads complaining about variants of the same thing?
Similar behavior is observed when copy/pasting from Skype.
