Channels bug: Auto-creating channels
We are currently experiencing a bug where the system is auto-creating channels in a Team. When we click on "...more channels" the normal dialogue appears but is empty. The number of channels increases/decreases randomly. We can no longer create channels in this Team.

Hi everyone, this bug has been found and fixed.
Please note it can take up to an hour on active usage of the team to kick in the API which fixes the issue. We’re seeing Teams getting fixed in the logs, so I know many of you should be seeing this bug cease.
However, if you’re still facing this bug despite instructions above, please email me at sparavi @ Microsoft dot com with your user logs and I’ll have the team investigate.
Thanks!

Please, please, please Microsoft throw your resources at this one. You have created a fantastic tool that is just starting to gain adoption in our organisation. Colleagues do not need this when creating their first team

After creating a channel yesterday, Teams has run into an infinite loop of channel creation. As a result we have hit the limit on the number of channels.
The worst parts are:
- We can't see the channels
- We can't delete the channels -

We're now completely unable to access any channels within an existing team aside from the favourites. Please push a fix ASAP!

We have just started experiencing this issue today, several days after it is first identified? When will it be fixed please?

Any update on this? This is making the app un-useable...

Yep, happening for us too. I've currently got 2511 more channels to view within the team.
This happened when I tried to create a new channel which worked but then I was unable to post anything to it (every message said that it failed to send). My team could see the channel but then every team members client went crazy and broke the more channels count. This happens on both the web view, and on the osx desktop app, but not on the mobile app. On the mobile app I don't see the high number of channels, I do see the newly created channel but I still can't post to it.
If I attempt to create a channel under the broken team, I receive an error saying "This team already has the max. number of channels"

Two of our teams have also experienced this within our organisation.
It happened to me when I tried to create a new channel, which seemed to never finish setting up. I noticed it when I couldn't add connectors to the channel. I can't add any more channels either :(

@GeirMoholdt if we check the Teams log, we can see that all "Conversation" tab is linked to a Skype thread with an ID.
Like"threadId": "19:d753d55919df4505b5f9f98c7be01a71@thread.skype"
I think that's normal and a core functionnality of Teams which have conversation's system based on Skype core.

We have the same problem.
There is also a reference to skype in the url that I am redirected to when logging in to Teams online. "... threadID … " and "… @thread.skype …" is this something not “closed” properly? https://teams.microsoft.com automatically redirects to the URL containing these references.

I picked the wrong day to try out Teams. I have probably created/deleted a dozen teams (and wasted hours of my day) thinking I was the cause of the error. Please fix soon.

Having exactly the same problem. It started happening yesterday on a couple of Teams where One Drive for Business is being used to synch data to my client. I've no idea if that's the problem but both Teams are now corrupted.

Same pb here.
For 2 users, it's happened while this :
Teams channels file section was synchronised on local drive with onedrive (Sharepoint synchronize button)
Lots of files was copied in synchronized directoryNot sure there is any link between bug and this.

Pastebin to show web browser client exhibiting the problems.
Main windows client was the initiator of the problem. -

Looks like expanding and collapsing the group helps to trigger this.

Everytime I expand or collapse the team on the left nav bar, the # of channels in that team keeps increasing. We're now at 299.
