Same issue here - have the latest desktop and mobile app. My observation: Desktop app seem to go to "Away" state too quickly - if I work in another window (writing a doc in confluence, etc) then teams seem to go inactive and then new message notification pop-up on my phone. Look at slack which has a great way of sending notifications between mobile and desktop

I have been having this same issue, with every single message that comes through when I am active in Teams. I feel the mobile notification should only go through after a message goes a certain amount of time being unread. But if a message is read, it should not send a mobile notification.
Same issue here - mine is set to delay mobile notifications when on desktop but they both come in at the same time which is annoying.
