Connect General Channel to all root folders in SharePoint Site
A little nuance when creating a Team from an existing group is that the SharePoint files which were associated with that group are not available immediately. This is due to the fact that each Channel creates a folder in the document library so the 'General' channel creates an empty folder called 'General'. To get existing files into the Team you have to create Channels with the same name as the root level SharePoint folders.
This is pretty confusing for our users and takes significant time / creates a lot of unnecessary channels when people have a lot of root folders.
Ideally the General Tab would display all of the existing folders by default and then each new channel created a new root folder.
I'm not sure how best to figure it but we need to avoid files and folders created in sharepoint that you can't see in teams.
Somehow general should be the root showing all files in the connected document library and all other channels added to a folder called channels maybe.
Maybe general channel shouldn't actually exist at all. You click on the team, you just see posts associated to the root team.
“Files” should be possible to redirect to shared documents folder and show all folders from top-level. Other channels can have separate folders under the top level folder.

Also... Channels created in MS Teams appear as root level folders in SharePoint Online (teams site). Root level folders created in SharePoint do not appear in MS Teams. Can this be fixed please.
Crazy to me that this isn't the default. It's making our document library extremely difficult to manage!

This "General" folder really confused many of our users. It made the difference between adoption of using Teams and not using it at all.
Or allow customiozation of Teams to point to what SP folder you would like "General" to work with (including root, of course)

Renaming of folders need to be possible. It courses confusion when the channel have been renamed and you then click you files tab in Teams and the name of the folder is something else. Users think Teams link to a "wrong" folder. When in SharePoint they need to be able to find the right folder too. The issue with naming also applies to OneNote. So when you change the name of your channel, both folder and OneNote section should be renamed as well
Yeah this can create a mess where its not clear which sharepoint folder in the document library is being used by a Channel. Its also an issue if you rename a channel. In addition to Rolf's feedback on localization, I would like the Teams to have an option whether to auto-add the folder name based on the channel at all. Also, as renaming a channel is supported, we should be able to change the folder the Files tab points to.

This is also related to the issue that the General channel is not translated in SharePoint if you use a localized version of Teams. Considering the challenge of multi-language teams making the General channel point to the root of the connected document library would solve this problem too.
