Send an invite without adding someone to team -- so they can check it out first!
I can add someone as a team member and send them a link to a team that they are a member of, but it doesn't seem like the link works for them if they're not a member.
If I'd like to send an open invite to many people or invite someone without "forcing" them to join - the link simply seems to open the Teams app and the only thing I can do is to give them instructions of how to join a team and what name to search for which isn't very user friendly.

@Filip's link 404'd. I agree with his assessment that this is really more about the ability to send a link to allow users to join a Team. I just tried to send out the team link as an invitation to my co-workers and learned the hard way that you can't join from the link. #eggonfacefail

Also, this topic isn't necessarily about letting people checking a team first. It's about letting them ignore an invite. Allowing someone to check a team is already possible - you can add someone as a member and they can leave if they don't want to be in. It's about allowing people to never becoming a member, but having a link to join if they wish to. It's just a very common thing on the web - having links to do things like this.
