Incorrect status in teams
We have noticed that our Teams statuses are consistently incorrect. Even when some team members are active in Teams they are shown as "away" or "offline". For example, although I can see that my status is "active", my colleagues see my status as "offline".
Can you please fix this bug?

Hi — My apologies for the delay in updating this item. We rolled out a fix a year ago for a specific issue of status changing to away in Teams when you were still active on the device. We thought this had fixed the “incorrect status” issue. From comments below, it sounds like people are still seeing issues.
If you are still having issues, it would be super helpful if you can capture logs by typing Ctrl + Shift + Alt + 1, and send the file from your downloads folder along with device info and detailed repro steps to teamsml@microsoft.com.
Thanks all!

This is also an issue for me and it's very irritating. Since I'm working in projects on Teams all day, I need to have it open, however, I can't tolerate the constant interruptions if I'm not scheduled to be available. This product is working well in other aspects but full adoption has been difficult due to a seemingly simple improvement of basic function. This issue must be more difficult to resolve than we all think since it's gone unresolved for over a year.

I set my status to do not disturb, a few minutes later I look at the teams window, i'm available... I didn't change it, I am still do not disturb, I have work I need to focus on. or things I need to do. It looks like the automatic away status may override the one I chose and when I touch the computer again that turns off... to available. Any user selected status other than available should override the automatic status changes.

Any updates?
Or, since auto status update is slow, therefore wrong for too long; and since the feature to manually set status also doesn't work 80% of the time, can you just hide the whole thing until you fix it?

If the availability status issue isn't going to be fixed sometime soon, then there should be a "mute" feature which stops notifications for a period of time, or until "mute" is turned off. Also annoying is that you can't drag the notification around to change where it appears.

I set my status to Do not disturb and 2 minutes later without doing anything I'm available again, this makes teams unusable in calls, presentations, etc.. Extremely annoying.

I see people as Unknown even when I'm actively chatting with them or on a conference call. Something just doesn't sync properly around the system.

our group is experiencing the status changing for us. I set to Busy, it waits a minute, then puts me as available. happening to our group. When will this be fixed?

We also have this issue. We look at the group member list, and it shows users as offline/unknown and is slow to sync.

Sometimes signing out and signing back in fixes the presence indicators.

We have a bunch of users here that are online but have a White presence as well. Very inconsistent.

We can not train people to message based on presence status if they are incorrect. Will continue to use Skype for Business until these bugs are sorted out.

Any updates on the incorrect status showing in Teams? Mine continually shows I am in a meeting when I am not.

The last few days, EVERY SINGLE PERSON in my Favorites has a white circle for their status. I checked coworker's PC, who has many of the same favorites, and his showed the appropriate Green for available, Yellow for away and Gray for offline for the same people. This is by far one of the most frustrating things within Teams. It's bad enough we can't customize this status, but when they don't even bother to display accurately, it makes me want to advocate to our department to go back to Cisco Jabber. There are so many things this darn program is lacking. The only reason we bothered to move is because of the group chat aspect that we were unable to implement in Jabber. I'd rather go back to creating daily group chats than deal with the lack of features in Teams.
