Incorrect status in teams
We have noticed that our Teams statuses are consistently incorrect. Even when some team members are active in Teams they are shown as "away" or "offline". For example, although I can see that my status is "active", my colleagues see my status as "offline".
Can you please fix this bug?
Hi — My apologies for the delay in updating this item. We rolled out a fix a year ago for a specific issue of status changing to away in Teams when you were still active on the device. We thought this had fixed the “incorrect status” issue. From comments below, it sounds like people are still seeing issues.
If you are still having issues, it would be super helpful if you can capture logs by typing Ctrl + Shift + Alt + 1, and send the file from your downloads folder along with device info and detailed repro steps to firstname.lastname@example.org.
I´m currently experiencing the same, I am actively working on other application in the laptop still am away on Teams. Status should be active no matter which application you are using on laptop, I cannot work on teams for whole day
Many users in my environment have been reporting this issue. They will be actively in a meeting and their status will move to Away after 5 minutes, even when the meeting is still ongoing. It happens more with 3rd party (non-Teams) meetings, but all meetings are on their calendars in Teams, so should reflect the "In a meeting" status and not "Away"
They also have the setting checked that uses Teams for the status in all Office applications.
Please recommend a fix/workaround.

Showing a different status on mobile app and a different status on the desktop version.
Please look into this.

We are facing the same issue. Can this be resolved please? or kindly suggest a work around till its fixed.
Also noticed that if in a non-Teams meeting status does not always revert to Busy like Skype used to do.
I´m currently experiencing the same, I am actively working on my laptop, but unless I am only in the Teams window, it will soon switch my status to away or offline. Completely useless. Status should be active as long as you are using the laptop.
This has been an issue for me since we started using Teams. I am actively working on my laptop, but unless I am only in the Teams window, it will immediately switch my status to away or offline. This needs to be fixed, as it makes Teams unuseable.
Few of our users having the issue here. I attended a meeting as a guest user in another tenant. Once the meeting was over it stayed in meeting status.
sent the diagnostic logs to Microsoft as above.
Mine just started today, my status is still 'in a meeting' even if I don't have any call in progress. I won't change by just clicking the reset status. It will only change by manually changing it to 'Available'. Then, if I click again reset status, it will revert back to 'in a meeting' status. Hoping this will be fixed, asap.
As of this week, my status is switching incorrectly. Now even when I am in a meeting, my status will switch to away.
same here. turned off my teams app on PC and turned off my mobile, and even so my status is Away... (it should be offline)
I have the same issue here and the e-mail above is not working. What we need to do?
I am still facing this issue and my colleagues too. We are working active on the laptop and it shows offline or away for hours maybe. Fix this issue.
Happening still for me. I'm on the latest build of Windows 10 and Teams 1.3.00.13565 (64-bit).
Is this ever going to be fixed? It seems like it should be so easy. But I see comments going back for years. What's up with that?
This bug is a joke. It is the most annoying bug in Teams (and there are several good ones to go at). I'm sending messages to people thinking they are there, and they are not... or sending messages to Available people and them getting irate when they say "I am in a call - read the status!".
Fix this... please!
Come on Microsoft, please fix this issue that is still actual !
And communicate regarding the status as your last post was february 2019
Mine just switched itself to offline - "We weren't able to connect. Sign in and we'll try again. Sign in" - can't sign in, can't change status

Still happening to me too. I went AFK for 6 hours but my profile still showed Available - then my team in India started pinging me at 12 am CST
