Add ability to lock wiki
For certain teams, we would only want a couple of people to be able to edit the wiki page, with the rest having view only. Or at the least, a way to track and approve/ reject proposed edits.
This is really important now that so many are using this feature for wfh and info sharing during COVID19!

Needed. None of the workarounds work.

Please add the ability for team members to have read-only access on wiki pages. In this case, Team owners (and those promoted to team ownership) will then be able to edit wiki pages in that given Team channel.

This really is needed. Please can you add a lock feature to the Wiki pages within Teams. Or an option to authorise/reject peoples edits.

I agree that this is needed!!!!
It doesn't work for Teams.
This works, just verified now:
Make sure to adjust the site permissions in the sharepoint as well so that members are set to read only, and you will be all set.

I agree with everyone else.
Changing the wiki settings in sharepoint does not give the members View Only access in Teams Desktop app.
We are trying to put all of training protocols in the Teams using different channels and wiki. But we can't have members change our protocols.
Please release an update soon to fix this.

Have tried the suggestions and as stated by others this does not stop members editing the Wiki in the Teams app. This is a must to make this feature usable in any form for us.
Dan's response below
"History and Permissions can be accessed by:
1. Select "Open in Sharepoint" from the channel options
2. Go to "Site Contents" on the left-hand side menu
3. Select "Teams Wiki Data" from the contents list
4. Select the channel folder
Permissions can be viewed/modified by selecting the opening the "Details Pane" by clicking the "info" icon in the top right
Version history can be viewed/restored by expanding the options menu directly to the right of the wiki name
It doesn't look like it's integrated into the teams desktop app yet, but some limited options ARE available"
Did not work for us. While I could change the setting on the sharepoint end it did not apply when users were using the MS Teams Desktop application. They could still edit the wiki pages instead of View Only.
I used Dan's method but it did not work. Anybody else also tried Dan's and it doesnt work? On Sharepoint members only have 'view' access to Wiki page contents, but they somehow can still edit on Teams. Driving me nuts
Please add this feature. We are creating Corporate Playbooks and SOPs using the Wiki but we need to lock it down to be read only for most of the company
READ BELOW! Dan provided great info... this is possible! I posted this comment about wanting this before reading ALL of the comments below (sorry). After following his instructions I found it was relatively easy and worked. So came back to edit this comment to help others and to also thank Dan for good advice.
With respect to this Vote, and what needs to happen in my opinion... although doing all of this (and more) IS POSSIBLE in Sharepoint would be easier being able to do this directly from the Wiki (and Files) Tab, Pages, Sub-Pages and even better, ability to view the History such as who created, modified or deleted.
Thanks again and keep up the great work! :)
Can't believe this does't exist - really need it!
