We would like to see better resizing across the app.
Resizing chat windows
Resizing channel width
Resizable Teams menu
Make columns resizable in Files tab
Desktop app resizing to be mobile responsive
Use 100% of resizable width
Automatic resizing of PDFs
Ability to resize the pane where search and favorites are show
Yes, please allow chat window to be resized. I hate having formatted output and code snippets wrapped.
I think it would be a good idea to have a wide chat, especially because we mostly use teams for work, so passing text should be better readable.
Thank you so much.

I'd love an option to make chats 100% of the window all the time.
Hear hear! I, like everyone else in this thread, can't believe that so simple a function as adjustable column sizes in the Files tab has not been addressed yet. They spend years getting things in the OS just right, then throw us back 10 years or more with this stripped down UI. Shows you the power of a monopoly. It's like a drug dealer who gets you hooked on the product then makes you use it only on their terms.

it is absolutely unprofessional that user cannot set the width of displayed content. how about more complex discussions, with longer texts and larger images -- you need to USE that empty space to display the information.
if my organization did not force me to use this tool, i would avoid it completely...
At least give us a button to copy out the text or something if you can't display it in a reasonable way

I just found out that my colleague works around the insanely narrow chat window by copying content out and pasting into Notepad. It's hard to believe that this is necessary, but it is.

It would be nice to hear if there was any traction on this. Our whole organization has widescreen monitors, yet Teams keeps the chats to ridiculously narrow widths. Ridiculous.
After I voted and commented... should this issue be merged up into the more popular issue here? https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/17408641-compact-mode it seems like there's some overlap there.
Absolutely. Please add functionality that allows user to expand and contract the size of chat and, especially, code windows. Even better, with code, double-clicking should open the code in a dedicated full-screen window. Some codes are very wide and full screen is needed to view them properly!
Chat windows take up almost half the width of my screen. With Skype for Business, I can drag it down to about half the width. We are programmers who screen share remotely. With SfB we could have the chat window on one side, and go through code on the rest of the screen. With Teams chat it is impractical.
There is also a resize useless during a meeting!
When you resize the window only the left side is resized! Only the partecipants... if you want to resize the chat or the meeting details is not possible! It's fixed size! Why???
The Teams chat app is way too wide. I have a small work laptop and 2 monitors. I keep Teams chat open and out of the way on the smallest screen (the laptop) so I can have the extra space to work. Still, Teams takes up HALF the laptop screen. There doesn't seem to be any good reason I can't make the window narrower. Would really appreciate a fix in the next update!

I have so much real estate on my monitor, I could really use a larger chat pane. We do a lot of copy/pasting of code and/or log file sections, as well as some tabular data, and looking at it broken up vertically is counterproductive.

2005 is calling, and it want it's UX back
Everything is huge-- the teams window seems to want to extend off the edges of my screen much of the time. Skype was nice because it was a small strip-- wish there were a stripped down or mini version...

The chat window takes up almost half of my desktop. It's very annoying, and if you need to chat Manager to employee, the large window doesn't help with privacy. Very annoying.
Need to resize the meme/GIphy interface. it is WAY too small to be useful.

You really need to work on allowing resizing of the conversation column... we often need to share cut and paste of outputs and with such a small column width its really annoying.

Yeah, I would prefer a full width (fluid) chat window. I assume it's been done that way to reduce computation and increase layout speed but it's such a waste, and it makes conversations take up so much more vertical space than they need to.
