Ability to change default send from creating a new thread to replying to current thread
In any chat, I would like to be able to have all chats default to be threaded, and then break them out into new threads if needed. The current method is all chats are new threads.
Example: First message in chat creates thread, subsequent messages auto-reply to that thread. If someone wishes to start a new thread they can either change the message using the menu link on the right or press a button to start a new thread.

How about starting a message with '^' attaches to the previous thread and '^^' to the thread before it.
The attachment would happen at time of typing, so as to prevent messages being allocated to last second messages.

I agree. The reply box is at font 3 which you need to squint to see. We noticed immediately already identified it as a horrible method. And in 5 days, we already had our first victim. (one of many).
Please make the start new conversation much harder to generate, When clicking on a conversation, it should just start to default type line so it's visually easy to see.
Please fix this, else Teams will be a communication median with all threads and no replies.

Agree. The "Reply" Box should be more prominent. Just like in the mobile app version of Teams where you have a separate (and small) icon to create a new thread and "Reply" boxes just below all threads as (visual) default.
The "Reply" is too easy to miss, so I always end up creating new threads instead of replying to existing posts. I think Reply is more common.

In addition to this I'd like to be able to move a message I accidentally created as a new thread to the appropriate thread (or vice versa).

I like the idea. Very often I enter my answer in new thread input by mistake and QQ about not be able to move my answer to the thread.
