Custom Group Categories for Teams
As I create more and more teams, I need to be able to group or categorize them. It seems like the only native groupings are "favorites" or "more". I would like to be able to create other categories. Once I get over 30 teams, grouping them into detailed categories is going to be imperative to stay organized.
Still under review by the feature team. Nothing new to report at this time.

Grouping of teams/categories is a highly demanded must-have, otherwise users are drowning in endless team lists.
do you have any update? We get lost with all our unsorted, uncategorised Teams.
This becomes a real problem in our company.
With every new client project I miss a cascading tree or folder structure of the "Teams" and "Channels":
A general team for a client, below that some teams for each client project and inside of that different channels.
In greater projects even several "sub"-teams within a project would make sense.
How many votes do we need to elevate this feature request?

REALLY REALLY would like some even basic ability to define groups and show them in those groups in the UI. Ideally you provide us the ability to tag Channels also.
This is 2-3 year old request. Please help us.

PLEASE!!!!!! The organization of multiple teams in varying places is becoming very cumbersome!
Not even the Icon Colour can be changed to help avoid putting internal stuff in an external Group, when naming is similar (as also the Name cannot be adapted to an individual Display Name for the Group). There is really nothing in there to support any kind of organizing the Teams. Please do! Don't make the growing popularity of Teams become an issue!

Can we get an update to this enhancement request Warren? Thank you!
I support this 100%.
I can't believe that it was first suggested in 2017 and still nothing. Lets go teams, help us out!
Based on the Covid experiences, some way of grouping in multiple levels would be very helpful. I am currently swamped with different teams. A folder structure of something similar compared to Delve is great
As an Edu user - this would be immensely helpful.

Urgently needed and would be very useful in Edu space where we have to Group teams based on various criteria or category. @Warren your last response was nearly 21/2 years ago and this great idea itself is nearly 4 years old! Wake Up!
function is urgently needed!
Need this urgently! My list is too long to work with already.....
Is there any update on this issue? This is really needed !
Having categories within Teams similar to Outlook would be invaluable

please add as function same as outlook.

I came here to ask for this as well. I would like to add that a search functionality is desperately needed. Filtering also filters channels, so to actually access the team completely, I need to remove the filter - and I am back where I started. Very annoying!
And more than simply category labels like in Outlook (which is also nice), but folders or some hierarchical organization structure. For example, I have a Team for each customer and I would like to group sets of customers in an account management folder (and perhaps in a regional subfolder) in order to reduce clutter and confusion with my other organizational department teams.
There is a relevant feature request posted here... https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/33497170-organize-teams

We create teams by Project and Department which means we have dozens of teams being used at a time. Having a nice way to group the projects together and the departments by operating company would be really nice. Along with the grouping the ability to expand and collapse these individual categories similarly to "Hidden teams" would be really nice.
Other chat tools like Discord already have this feature.
