Webcam quality is very low
I have a full HD (1080p) webcam which hasn't the same quality in video call than with Skype for Business. We also have fiber optic Internet connection so it's not the cause of the poor image.
It happened on many different computers so I guess it's an issue from Teams.
Question: can you make the video quality much higher?
same issue here, Logitech c920, though it only just started happening recently.
That said, when I use teams.microsoft.com via a web browser, and join a meeting, the outgoing video quality is good. what looks like 720 and above.
If I quit the meeting and rejoin via the Teams app (on win10), the outgoing video quality is very, very poor. 320px poor.
Not really sure what's happened.
This is a problem on the Logitech Brio as many others have said. It doesn't appears that the item mentioned below (1080p for collaboration bars) will change this since that refers to devices like the Logitech Meetup. I have tried working with both Microsoft and Logitech support on this and they blame the others and won't take responsibility for the Brio which is Certified for Teams. Very frustrating experience that has been going on for years with the Brio.
says June CY2021 but not sure how accurate this is someone also posted on april a release for april

This won't be fixed in the next months... See the status! This is a very poor service for all the business customers using Microschrott Teams during the pandemic. I have a Logitech Meetup with 4k and the resolution is awful...
1080p output resolution is currently on the roadmap for the "April CY2021" release and can be tracked here:
When is this going to be fixed?

I have been running a NexiGo camera that was allegedly Full HD for previous 12 months (via Teams) and picture resolution has been pretty good, although no options to zoom/pan or adjust color, etc.
Finally the Logitech Brio 4K becomes available (they've been hard to source, obviously) and I switch to it - only to find I now look like I've put a piece of cloudy plastic in front of the lens, or I'm submerged in a swimming pool - with blocky pixelated edges and blurriness. It is terrible!
I presume that genuinely higher-end cameras that are outputting at higher resolution are somehow being "bitrate throttled" by the Teams servers? Or is it genuinely a compatibility issue with Teams Desktop App and Logitech? This is supposed to be an MS Teams Certified camera?
I hope they fix it - otherwise I just wasted $200 and I'm back to using the NexiGo.
Same here with logitech's streamcam. Teams and Skype desktop versions produce terrible quality. I also own a cheap Amcrest 1080p webcam which works perfectly. I have 200Mbit fibre, i7 processor and 16Gb of RAM. Teams and Skype via the web (using Edge) work just fine. So something is wrong with MS Skype/Teams desktop apps and Logitech cameras. Please sort this out!!
So frustrated with this. When I start my call with the Edge browser - the quality is good - but with the Teams Desktop client - it's poor. The quality is also good when I run Teams from a Windows 10 VM on my Mac - but just not from the native Mac Teams client. Arrgh! Please fix it.
Bought this expensive webcam to ensure great video quality in TEAMS - Now find out it is terrible and the laptop camera built in does a far better job. Any options? It works prefect on the Windows 10 camera app or other video apps just not in TEAMS.
Why do I need to use OBS or something similar to enhance the video quality for Logitech Meetup? It should be possible that teams as standalone solutions offers a good video quality with that camera.

Same here. Bought a Logitech Brio 4k web camera and in Teams the web camera output appears to be much worse than my Logitech C920! Almost blurry.
Add me to the list... bought a Brio 4K for the picture quality and looks terrible in Teams. I'd be happy with standard HD quality.

Same here, it looks like a vanity filter is in place. The quality is not scharp/crisp like the output in the regular software (camera app or from logitech). This concerns a logitech brio.
Same here use Logitech Bri. Video i camera app is very good, but it is very low res in Teams
Third attempt at finding a webcam that works with Teams - this is getting expensive. Camera fine in Windows Camera app, just keeps dropping out in Teams. Also the sound is terrible through Teams, fine in other apps.
Add me to this list...
HD webcam, 50mbps broadband - Look like a Minecraft character / cartoon in Teams Desktop meetings.
Open the webapp and the quality is perfect!
Me too, have a brand new Logitech C922 PRO, quality is top on normal windows camera app but in MS Teams it's very bad..

I'm adding myself to this issue. I use Teams internally and Zoom externally and based on this experience, Zoom has a huge video performance advantage over Teams. While there has been a torrent of updates to Teams in the last year, video performance evidently has not made it to the top of the list just yet.

Same here. Using the internal Windows Camera App produces much higher quality pictures/video than using Teams. It is not related to Hardware or Connection. Please Fix!
